The Jujutsu Kaisen epilogue has recently been leaked and it finally gave fans one of the Heian era flashbacks they wanted for so long, mainly focusing on the characters of Ryomen Sukuna and Uraume. While this is something that perhaps didn't fulfill people's desire for a better ending in the manga, it did provide greater context for this relationship.
This flashback is only a couple of pages long in the Jujutsu Kaisen epilogue but shows the day Sukuna and Uraume met while also explaining a bit of the latter's origin and the nature of his abilities. Moreover, it also shows one of the few glimpses of humanity for the King of Curses, which is something that connects a bit better with the final conversation he has with Mahito in the series.

One of the long-awaited Heian era flashbacks was provided in the Jujutsu Kaisen epilogue
The recent Jujutsu Kaisen epilogue provided perhaps one of the most wanted Heian era flashbacks from the fandom, which was the backstory of how Uraume and Ryomen Sukuna met. Author Gege Akutami finally answered the fans' prayers and delivered that flashback, albeit through a short story that was only four pages long.
The epilogue revealed that Uraume was a child who couldn't control his ice-based abilities and ended up freezing his parents to death when he was sleeping. He was found by Sukuna, who quickly took an interest in his abilities and decided to use him to keep the meat he hunted fresh, thus basically making him a human ice house, according to the manga.
However, this moment in the Jujutsu Kaisen epilogue also showed how Uraume found himself being useful to a person who didn't die because of his abilities and the King of Curses found someone who didn't view him as a monster. This connects with the final conversation that Sukuna had with Mahito in chapter 271 of the manga in the afterlife, highlighting how much Uraume means to him.
The relationship between Sukuna and Uraume
Sukuna and Uraume have one of the most peculiar relationships, as evidenced by the Jujutsu Kaisen epilogue and the Heian era flashbacks. However, while most fans knew that Uraume was very loyal to the King of Curses, it didn't seem that was reciprocated, with the final chapters of the manga having the only moments where Sukuna actually showed appreciation for his servant.
This is quite telling when Satoru Gojo comes back from the Prison Realm at the end of the Culling Games arc and quickly hits Uraume with a massive punch on his stomach, with Sukuna watching and not having any meaningful reaction.
That suggests that Akutami probably thought of this idea later since his main villain never gave Uraume any kind of meaningful attention, making the revelation of him being so important a rather inconsistent plot point.
Final thoughts
The Jujutsu Kaisen epilogue has already begun to be quite divisive within the fandom but has provided one silver lining, which was answering one of the doubts people had regarding potential Heian era flashbacks. It gave a degree of context to Sukuna and Uraume's relationship, with its final page serving as the official ending of the story.
