Jujutsu Kaisen fans have seemingly been missing their favorite characters, Satoru Gojo and Suguru Geto, as they cannot let go of any chance to bring up the characters. The same was observed after the announcement of the Sakamoto Days anime, which unveiled Taro Sakamoto's character design for the series.

Both Satoru Gojo and Suguru Geto have now passed away in the Jujutsu Kaisen manga. With that, even if fans got to see the characters in the anime a few more times, it would not be long until the two characters were completely wiped off in all media. Thus, it seems like the series' fans have been looking for the next best thing.

Jujutsu Kaisen fans compare Sakamoto Days' Taro Sakamoto to Gojo and Geto

On Monday, May 27, 2024, the official sources of the Sakamoto Days anime announced its anime adaptation. With that, the anime unveiled its teaser visual, trailer, and character designs. While the TMS Entertainment anime looked good overall, Jujutsu Kaisen fans only had eyes for the character design of the series' protagonist, Taro Sakamoto's younger version.

Taro Sakamoto, as seen in the character design, donned a similar hairstyle to that of Suguru Geto. However, his hair color was similar to that of Satoru Gojo.

Thus, one Jujutsu Kaisen fan dubbed the new anime protagonist "Gojo Suguru," a name that has incorporated the names of both Gojo Satoru and Suguru Geto. This led to an argument between the Jujutsu Kaisen and Sakamoto Days fans on X.

How fans reacted to the comparisons

Sakamoto Days fans found it very upsetting that despite it being a day when they were meant to celebrate the series' adaptation, Jujutsu Kaisen fans wanted to make it about their series somehow.

"as a fan of both SakaDays and JJK, this is upsetting. SakaDays anime teaser trailer and character design just dropped today; why are y'all making it about JJK all of a sudden?! Leave this series alone!!," one fan said.
"me when i only consume media on the basis of whether or not i find the characters sexually attractive (lame)," another added.

Another anime fan pointed out how Jujutsu Kaisen anime fans were those people who did not like a series based on its story but on how attractive the characters looked.

Sakamoto Days fans also made sure to convey to JJK fans that they wanted them to stay away from their favorite series.

"No god no pls weird JJK fandom pls stay away from this franchise," another fan said.
"don't ever compare my goat sakamoto to a mid character again," another added.
"Peoples acting like sakamoto days was some niche manga is so funny to me lmao dawg this shi is mainstream as hell," another fan said.

Meanwhile, others asked JJK fans not to compare their characters with the ones in Sakamoto Days. This is because they held their characters in high regard due to their stories, unlike JJK fans, who only cared about their characters' appearances.

However, in response, some JJK fans expressed that Sakamoto Days fans had no right to ask them not to touch their series. This is due to the fact that the series wasn't niche and was quite mainstream, in contrast to what Sakamoto Days fans were portraying.
