Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 268 spoilers hinted at a climax where nobody would die and this had the fandom comparing it to Tokyo Revengers where the protagonist saved the entirety of the cast before the climax of the series. This had the fandom split over whether the author should lead his magnum opus to such a 'controversial' climax in the first place.
Moreover, the chapter also ended with a hint that Okkotsu Yuta might have survived against Ryomen Sukuna by transferring his consciousness inside Gojo using Kenjaku's cursed technique. This meant that he could have escaped a confirmed death because his existence inside Gojo's body made no sense.

Why is the ending of Jujutsu Kaisen being compared to Tokyo Revengers?
Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 259 spoilers started with a conversation between Sukuna and Megumi as the former tried his best to retain his vessel. However, as the latter was aware of the situation, he didn't give in which led to the demise of Sukuna, and Fushigoro Megumi was saved.
Moreover, the climax of the chapter also showcased Maki and Kusakabe walking towards Jujutsu High, showing how they were also saved despite being gravely injured by the King of Curses. Though the manga hasn't reached its conclusion yet, it has hinted at a similar conclusion as Tokyo Revengers.
Tokyo Revengers manga series ended with Takemichi, the main protagonist, diving one last time into a past where he met Mikey when they were children. Even though they weren't supposed to know each other, for some reason, they knew each other.
From that moment, everything was set into pieces, and every possible calamity, which happened in every timeline, was avoided. The series ended with every character alive, even those who were supposed to die. This made the series' ending "controversial."
Reaction from the fandom
As expected, the fandom started branding the series as 'controversial' even though it is, arguably, one of the most hyped series in recent times. One fan made an interesting claim about how no one will remember the series after a decade if the ending is as the fandom had speculated.
Moreover, a part of the fandom was sure that the anime could end the series on a much better climax, even though that is a very controversial take because the TV anime adaptation, so far, has been truly faithful to its source, with only the changes in the fight choreography.
“Greatest new gen they said" a fan said
"No one will remember jjk in the next 10 years" another fan claimed
"We must cope and hope that the anime can deliver a better ending or their own version that’s better on the future" another one claimed
Final thoughts
As already mentioned, the series is yet to receive a climax so it is advised for the fandom to not assume conclusions on their own. On the other hand, Yuta's survival might be a turning point.
A while back, the author stated how everyone would love the climax of Jujutsu Kaisen and his revival might raise the chances of Gojo's return too. But this information must be taken with a grain of salt.
