Binding Vows have always been a fascinating and vital aspect of sorcery in the Jujutsu Kaisen universe, often crucial for powering up characters. Essentially, a Binding Vow is a pact one makes with oneself or another person (typically other sorcerers), establishing conditions for their jujutsu techniques or outputs that ultimately help enhance their Cursed Techniques’ effectiveness.

By adhering to the rules and restrictions set in these vows/contracts, the sorcerer can gain greater power or leverage. However, breaking these vows leads to severe repercussions.

In Jujutsu Kaisen's recent chapter 263, two new Binding Vows are introduced during Yuji and the team's showdown against Sukuna. However, this time, the Binding Vows don't come from Sukuna. Instead, the chapter reveals the Binding Vows of Yuji Itadori and Aoi Todo, giving them significant advantages in their battle against Sukuna.

Yuji and Todo’s binding vows play a crucial role in the fight against Sukuna in Jujutsu Kaisen

In Jujutsu Kaisen’s recent chapter 263, Yuji Itadori and Aoi Todo’s new Binding Vows are introduced during their fight against Ryomen Sukuna. After Yuta’s Copy of Kenjaku’s Technique stops working, Yuji and Todo take the lead in the confrontation once again.

Yuji uses his Dismantle with a Binding Vow to directly attack the barrier between Sukuna and Megumi’s soul, aiming to separate Sukuna from Megumi’s body. Even Sukuna acknowledges this attack as more effective than physical blows.

Todo's Binding Vow with his Boogie Woogie Revised technique significantly expands its reach and target range, allowing him to summon Angel from afar and catch Sukuna by surprise.

In the latest chapter 263 of the manga, mamgaka Gege Akutami adds an intriguing twist to the ongoing battle between Sukuna and Yuji, Todo, and Yuta, now in Gojo’s body. Yuta uses Gojo’s Hollow Purple at the end of chapter 262.2. Chapter 263 opens with Yuta’s attack breaking their domain’s barrier.

With that, Yuji and Todo join the fight alongside Yuta. However, Yuta collapses soon after since the cursed spirit Rika didn’t possess him when he switched to Gojo’s body, causing his Copy of Kenjaku’s body-switching Cursed Technique to stop working. With Yuta out of the fight, Yuji and Todo take the lead in keeping Sukuna at bay.

While Todo is momentarily distracted by Yuta's collapse, Sukuna uses a Black Flash on him. Seizing the opportunity, Yuji attacks Sukuna. Despite being hit by Black Flash, Todo assists Yuji with his revised Boogie Woogie technique. Yuji calls out to Megumi, urging him to wake up as he hits Sukuna with his Dismantle technique.

Sukuna notices that Yuji is limiting the target of his technique with a Binding Vow, directing Dismantle specifically at the barrier between Megumi and Sukuna’s souls. He realizes that Yuji’s Binding Vow, which focuses the technique on this barrier, is more effective in separating their souls than physical attacks.

This new Binding Vow gives Yuji an edge over Sukuna, prompting Sukuna to dodge Yuji’s attacks instead of attempting to block them.

Later in the chapter, Todo uses his vibraslap and Boogie Woogie Revised to summon Hana Kurusu, aka Angel, into their showdown. The narrative explains that through a Binding Vow limiting the number of swaps per strike on the vibraslap, the range and targets of Todo’s technique expand significantly.

Angel then uses Jacob’s Ladder on Sukuna in a final attempt to tear apart his soul from Megumi’s body.
