While it has been some time since the Jujutsu Kaisen manga ended, the series has left fans with many big questions. With the series having long concluded, fans can only hope that the creator will address these questions in some future promotional materials.

Unfortunately, such developments may leave fans unsatisfied, as there are far too many unanswered questions within the series. Therefore, the only way for the manga creator to fix these mistakes would be to create prequel material, either as manga or a light novel, that addresses some of the biggest questions raised by the series itself.

Lack of depth in Jujutsu Kaisen warrants a prequel story

As described by u/Pascraked47 on Reddit, the Jujutsu Kaisen manga is essentially "bones without meat." This is because, while there is a base story in the series, several gaps exist that are filled by headcanon.

Many fans regard manga creator Gege Akutami as a great storyteller, but that is far from the truth. For starters, while fans believe that Gege has penned Yuji Itadori, Megumi Fushiguro, and Nobara Kugisaki as really close friends, that has never really been the case.

It is true that canonically, the three characters have spent quite some time together, but most of what fans believe about their friendship is based on headcanon derived from Jujutsu Strolls or anime/manga promotional material. The same is the case for relationships between other fan-favorite characters like Satoru Gojo, Nanami Kento, Yuta Okkotsu, Maki Zen'in, and others.

Unfortunately, this is not just the case for character relationships but also the series' main plot. The manga creator has designed it in such a way that it leaves readers with more things to interpret than answers to their questions.

For instance, many fans wanted to know how Toji Fushiguro became a Sorcerer Killer. They saw a glimpse of his wife dying and were led to assume he became a killer afterward. However, fans were left to interpret this development rather than being shown what really happened.

Another doubt fans have is about Kaori Itadori and Jin Itadori. What happened to Kaori's body after Kenjaku abandoned it? Also, where is Jin Itadori? Is he even alive? Such questions are not ones that fans should interpret but ones that the manga creator should explore in the series.

To top it all off, the manga ended on a similar note. While Gege Akutami finally revealed Yuji Itadori's Domain, the creator neither disclosed the domain's name nor explained how it worked. Instead, fans were left to speculate about how the series protagonist's possible strongest move worked.

This lack of clarity has led to several debates among Jujutsu Kaisen fans. While some may view this as a sign of an engaging fanbase, the reality is a horror, as none of the fans know the true answer to most of such questions.

This is why manga creator Gege Akutami should possibly release a new prequel manga or administer a light novel, answering some of the biggest questions he left unanswered while creating the manga chapters every week.
