On December 21, 2024, Jujutsu Kaisen season 3 received its first key visual during the Jump Festa 2025. While fans were expecting a bigger update, such as a trailer or release window reveal, they were still happy with the visual reveal, which showcased the upcoming frenzy the sorcerers from Jujutsu Tech would be facing.
The visual showcased the protagonist in a depressed state behind a window with a mysterious hand before him. This might be a hint at the activation of the Binding Vow by the King of Curses during the Culling Game. Sukuna used Yuji's body to wreak havoc and transfer his consciousness inside Fushigoro. From this point onwards, Sukuna was unstoppable.

Jujutsu Kaisen season 3: Exploring the hint behind the sequel's key visual
The key visual of Jujutsu Kaisen season 3, released during the Red Stage on Jump Festa 2025, featured Itadori Yuji, the main protagonist, behind a window in a mood that showcased his grief. The protagonist's hand, covered with blood, was also visible through the window and signified the most crucial moment from the Culling Game arc, the 'Enchain' activation.
After Sukuna ripped Itadori's heart during the Fearsome Womb arc, these two met inside a void where the King of Curses gave the protagonist a chance to live again. However, this came at the cost of a Binding Vow.
The Binding Vow would let Sukuna take over Itadori's body for one minute after uttering the word 'Enchain.' Moreover, the antagonist also promised not to hurt anyone during this state.
Itadori rejected this offer, and they wagered this in a battle to death. As expected, Sukuna won in a second. Still, another clause the King of Curses added was that Itadori would forget about their conversation (including the binding vow that was already signed). So, during the Culling Game arc, when Sukuna saw every piece in its right place, he commenced his plan.
After getting betrayed by Tsumiki, the protagonist's group stood in shock. Sukuna uttered Enchain and took over the protagonist's body for one minute. He then took one of his fingers from Itadori's hand and fed it to Fushigoro. Sukuna left Itadori and made Fushiguro his new host, a move which proved crucial to the King of Curses' plan for the future.
Reactions from fans
As claimed by fans, the presence of a hand signified that Jujutsu Kaisen season 3 might end with Sukuna transferring hosts, setting up a perfect cliffhanger for the future sequel. However, one branded such claims as "overthinking" and claimed that the hand in Jujutsu Kaisen season 3 visual only signified Yuji's guilt after Sukuna killed hundreds of residents against Mahoraga.
However, some fans were adamant about the belief that the sequel would end with the Enchain activation, which ended with Sukuna mocking Itadori about the current situation being an 'interesting' one. Lastly, one fan predicted and stated that season 3 would end with Gojo's release from the Prison Realm, which happened a few chapters after Sukuna changed hosts.
"Literally would be the perfect end to season 3 and if they extended it then gojo comeback would also be good," one fan said.
"I think it’s to illustrate the fact that he got blood on his hands after shibuya incident. Theyll prolly deepen and add more layers to his remorse. But yh I also think it will end after the maki and yuji v sk fight," another fan said.
"Honestly that would be perfect to end on didnt i say we'd see something interesting... Brat," another one claimed.
"Huh maybe, but I think season 3 will end with the gojo's Nah i'd win," another one said.
Final thoughts
Given the title of Jujutsu Kaisen season 3 (Jujutsu Kaisen Culling Game), it might end with a complete adaptation of the arc. This would hint that the sequel might end with Gojo getting released from the Prison Realm (as it took place at the end of the arc).
However, the series has yet to announce almost everything regarding its airing (episode count, etc). So, it is best to wait and see how things unfold.
