Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 268, released on September 2, 2024, featured the long-awaited demise of Ryomen Sukuna. However, the last words of the King of Curses put the series at a standstill as he claimed he would return in the future. Like every cursed spirit, the King of Curses would also possibly return in the future, however, the only question is how.

During the Culling Game arc, Gege Akutami introduced the fandom to the King of Curses' weapons which he used during the Heian Era—Kamutoke and Hiten. However, he only used a replica of one of these, meaning that they could still be present, sealed, or stored somewhere, which could become the place of Sukuna's rebirth as an evolved cursed spirit.

Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 268 saw the King of Curses despair, as he tried his best to provoke Fushigoro Megumi into his guilt so that he could continue living inside him as a host. Megumi, on the other hand, had enough of Sukuna's pesky tricks and wanted to live for others this time.

The King of Curses was then ripped apart from Megumi's body and reduced to a little blob of meat. Itadori approached the King of Curses in his most pathetic form, giving him another chance to turn to a new page before dying. However, the King of Curses fades away, declaring not to underestimate him as he is a curse.

Curses, in Jujutsu Kaisen, emerge from the fear of humans. The prime example of this is the special-grade cursed spirit Mahito, who originated from the fear humans had against each other. Even though Kenjaku absorbed him during the Shibuya arc, he would return in the future as a better-cursed spirit than before.

The same could be said about the main antagonist of the series, even though it wasn't specified what fear led to the rebirth of Sukuna. So, the question remains—what would be the thing from which the King of Curses would be reborn? While the fandom might think he could be reborn from the last finger on which Nobara used her Resonance, things probably won't go as expected.

The last finger of the King of Curses could be in the custody of the Jujutsu Tech and could also have a high-level seal around it, preventing the rebirth of the King of Curses. So, the only thing that could serve as a basis for the return of Ryomen Sukuna would be his cursed tools which he used during the Heian Era—Kamutoke and Hiten.

While Kamutoke appeared in Jujutsu Kaisen, as Yorozu made a replica of the original one due to her Binding Vow with Sukuna, Hiten is yet to appear. However, the King of Curses used both of these as his weapons and could return as an evolved cursed spirit through them, having rectified the flaws he had previously.

Him returning as an 'evolved' cursed spirit comes with reference to when Mahoraga used a different form than his usual, the Garuda form, to fight him during the Shibuya arc of Jujutsu Kaisen. So, just like Mahoraga, the return of the King of Curses could be similar.
