The special Naruto episodes are most likely to never come out, according to recent reactions by the fandom
These special episodes were due to come out a year ago and were Studio Pierrot's way of celebrating the original anime of the 2000s. However, it was later announced that they were going to be postponed. The original statement was that the animation studio wanted to improve the quality of the product in question but there was no more information regarding this project.
Now that a year has gone by, the vast majority of the fandom has given up on the idea of this project coming out. There was some hope that this project was a test of what people might want to see in a remake of this series. That being said, now it seems that is never going to happen, which begs the question of whether Pierrot had any material ready to begin with.
Be that as it may, there is no denying that these four special episodes would have had a major reaction, especially considering the everlasting legacy of author Masashi Kishimoto's series. However, it is a bit of a shame that this special project has never come out, which could have had a major impact on the anime community.
Reactions online
One of the biggest reasons why a lot of people wanted to see the special Naruto episodes is because they were meant to capture the best moments of the franchise. There were a lot of fans looking forward to seeing great scenes of the series such as Rock Lee vs. Gaara, the protagonist's fight with Sasuke at the Valley of the End, and many more iconic moments.
That is something that has been extremely frustrating to a lot of people. It was especially considering how Bleach, another major Studio Pierrot property, had a lot of success with the release of the Thousand-Year Blood War arc anime adaptation. A lot of fans wanted to see their favorite series being treated with modern animation, although that is yet to happen.
"GTA 6 will come out before those 4 episodes release," someone said.
"Lmao. I don't care anymore (I am coping)" another person said.
"They're gonna wait for the 25th anniversary now. Lol" someone else said.
There is no certainty if these Naruto episodes are ever going to come out or not but there is no denying that they have a lot of potential to get people's attention within the anime community.
