Kagurabachi chapter 49 release date and time, where to read, and more

Shueisha's MANGA Plus website announced that Kagurabachi chapter 49 will be released on Monday, September 16, 2024, at 12 am JST in Weekly Shonen Jump's 42nd issue. Yet due to the differences in time zones, most fans outside Japan can read the chapter earlier on September 15, 2024.

In the previous chapter, Chihiro Rokuhira told Uruha about Hishaku's plans and the truth about the weapons he witnessed at Kokugoku. On the other hand, the Kokugoku Steam Squad defeated the Hishaku assassins and headed to the Senkutsuji Temple. However, a Hishaku member, Hirohiko, annihilated them.

Manga enthusiasts can read Takeru Hokazono's Kagurabachi chapter 49 for free on several Shueisha-affiliated platforms, including the MANGA Plus website, the Shonen Jump+ app, the MANGA Plus application, and the official VIZ Media website.

Only the first and the latest chapters can be accessed for free on these platforms, except the Shonen Jump+ app, where fans require a subscription to read every chapter. Fans also need a monetary subscription on the MANGA Plus platform to read beyond the six free chapters.

Chapter 48 begins with Chihiro informing Hakuri and Uruha that he has moved the other passengers to a different vehicle. Once the train stops at the next station, they will have them get off. The Enten-user adds that they are headed to the Senkutsuji Temple.

Meanwhile, Yoji Uruha curiously stares at Chihiro, finding traces of Kunishige in him. He requests Chihiro to let him look at his Enten, which he treats almost like a kid. The chapter then shows Chihiro Rokuhira sharing a heartfelt conversation with Uruha regarding his father, Kunishige.

Uruha thinks Chihiro looks identical to the blacksmith. Moreover, he is glad that Kunishige didn't have to live alone for those 15 years. During their conversation, Chihiro brings up Hishaku's topic and informs Uruha about their plan.

The sorcerer further tells Uruha that the weapons he saw at the Kokugoku Fortress were Genichi Sojo's masterpieces, crafted using Enchanted Blade's source material, Datenseki. Chihiro informs Uruha that he has faced someone using that weapon before.

However, he didn't think Hishaku would produce them in bulk. Chihiro then judges Hishaku's actions and speculates that the main members could be working behind the shadows, while leaving the rough work, such as demolishing the Sanzos, to the hired assassins.

However, Uruha thinks it's not that easy to defeat Kamunabi's elite guards, as they are far more agile, strong, and have greater coordination skills. The chapter switches to Kokugoku, where the Kokugoku Steam Squad defeats a wave of Hishaku assassins using proper strategy.

One of them knows Uruha is headed towards the Senkutsuji Temple, so they want to surprise the sorcerer by going there before. Meanwhile, the train stops at an eerily quiet station.

The chapter shifts the perspective to a mysterious Hishaku member, named Hirohiko, who is glad to move forward with the plans. The sorcerer enters the train, after leaving the corpses of the Kokugoku Steam Squad members on the station's bench.

Hirohiko walks into the train's first compartment, where Chihiro awaits his arrival. The chapter ends with Hirohiko and Chihiro prepared to face off.

Given how the latest chapter ended, Kagurabachi chapter 49 will likely show Chihiro Rokuhira demonstrating his Enten's powers against Hirohiko. However, it remains to be seen what kind of powers the sorcerer has.

In the latest chapter, the sorcerer tells his partner that he may not have to battle the Enten user to kill Uruha. As such, Kagurabachi chapter 48 will likely reveal Hirohiko's sorcery powers.
