Kagurabachi chapter 50: Samura's connection with Chihiro is revealed as he longs for a reunion

Kagurabachi chapter 50 was released on Monday, September 23, 2024, at 12 am JST in Weekly Shonen Jump's 43rd issue. The chapter introduced Samura, the blind Enchanted blade contract bearer, and his connection to Chihiro Rokuhira. The swordsman wielded a blade to protect Uruha, Hakuri, and others from the approaching enemies at the Senkutsuji Temple and longed for a reunion with Chihiro.

The previous chapter saw Chihiro showcase his Enten's powers against Hirohiko, who wanted to kill Uruha and terminate the Eternal Contract. During their battle, the Enten-user leaped out of the train with Hirohiko, ensuring Hakuri and Uruha reached the Senkutsuji Temple safely. Meanwhile, he focused on facing Hirohiko and his Anti-Enten squad.

Kagurabachi chapter 50: Hakuri and Uruha meet Samura and learn his connection with Chihiro

Kagurabachi chapter 50, titled Interception, commences with a flashback, where Chihiro tells Hakuri how the Enchanted Blades protected the country in the Seitei War 18 years ago. However, he feels the country will plunge into chaos if the evildoers wield those blades by killing the former users.

Besides that, he recalls his father, Kunishige Rokuhira, telling him that the actual heroes in the war were the ones he entrusted his faith to (the Enchanted Blade users), not him. As such, Chihiro refuses to let them die.

Kagurabachi chapter 50 then returns to the present and switches the perspective to Uruha and Hakuri. The former feels that while Chihiro Rokuhira can go full-throttle against Hirohiko, they shouldn't let their guard down. Hakuri assures Uruha to protect him, should they face an enemy.

While Uruha appreciates Hakuri's good intentions, he feels they must hurry to the Senkutsuji Temple. Following that, Kagurabachi chapter 50 shows two Kamunabi sorcerers discussing Hishaku's attack at the Kokugoku.

One of the sorcerers draws a mandala on the ground, which teleports them to Hakuri and Yoji Uruha's location. The ex-Kumeyuri recognizes them as the forces from Masumi and finds out that they have arrived to take them to the Senkutsuji Temple, where Samura is waiting for them.

The narrative for Kagurabachi chapter 50 then shows the Masumi teleporting to the Senkutsuji Temple, where Samura, one of the former Enchanted Blade wielders lives. A Masumi asks Hakuri whether he is planning to teleport the Enchanted Blade, to which the boy says yes. They fear the enemy will get reach the temple soon.

Meanwhile, Samura welcomes Hakuri and Uruha most extraordinarily. He sniffs the former, who has Chihiro's scent around him, and greets Uruha, whom he hasn't seen for a long time.

Kagurabachi chapter 50 reveals that Samura and Chihiro know each other from the past. A flashback showcases how Kunishige's son met Samura for the first time. A few times in the past, Shiba took Chihiro out into the world, hiding his identity as Rokuhira's son.

One day, while walking through a marketplace, they met the blind wielder, Samura. During their first interaction, Chihiro realized Samura's blindness heightened his other senses to superhuman levels. The blind swordsman could easily tell that Shiba had Kunishige's scent around him.

He was glad to know that Kunishige wasn't alone. Likewise, Chihiro told the swordsman how his father used to tell him stories about him, and how he called Samura and other Enchanted Blade users the true heroes of the Seitei War. However, the blind swordsman thought the actual hero was Kunishige Rokuhira, the creator of those blades.


Kagurabachi chapter 50: Samura decides to fight enemies ahead of Chihiro's arrival

The narrative for Kagurabachi chapter 50 returns to the present as Samura looks forward to meeting Chihiro Rokuhira once again. At that moment, a monk hits a bowl, which begins vibrating.

Samura informs everyone that they have intruders. One of the Masumis takes Hakuri inside for treatment. Likewise, Samura tells Uruha to get some rest. The Masumi tells Hakuri that they intend to shorten his recovery time.

Kagurabachi chapter 50 chapter then shifts the focus to Chihiro's location, where Hirohiko asks him whether he made the right call to let the Enchanted Blade's contract bearer escape to the Senkutsuji Temple. He feels the contract bearers won't survive, without an Enchanted Blade user's protection.

Meanwhile, Hakuri wants to keep his word to Chihiro and protect the contract bearers. However, Uruha advices Hakuri to focus on regaining his abilities first as he believes the security in Senkutsuji Temple is greater than Kokugoku because of Samura. The ex-Kumeyuri laments not being as powerful as Samura, otherwise he could have prevented the massacre at Kokugoku.

Uruha knows that the reason Chihiro has split off from them is because he understands Samura's reputation. The chapter reveals that Senkutsuji Temple's defense is impenetrable with Samura's presence.

Following that, Uruha tells the blind swordsman that Chihiro will come to the temple with information on Hishaku. Kagurabachi chapter 50 ends with the Samura looking forward to the reunion as he prepares to fight the enemies.
