Kagurabachi chapter 51: Samura takes on the Hishaku's assassins
Kagurabachi chapter 51, titled Samura, begins with a flashback scene where Shiba apologizes to Samura for barging into his place with Chihiro. The Enten-user, who was 14 years old at that time, is seen practicing his sword skills. Samura is delighted to meet Rokuhira's son but laments he can't see him.
Kagurabachi chapter 51 reveals that Samura blinded himself to his own volition. He believed worldly passions like anger and desire can lead humans to hell and dull their judgment and blade. As such, he rid himself of those desires by blinding himself.
However, Shiba thinks it's hypocrisy on Samura's part, considering he is fond of smoking. While they bicker, Chihiro practices his swings. He recalls his father telling him Samura is the fastest swordsman he has ever known. Samura notices Chihiro and feels he's hesitating about his sword swings. He then proceeds to show him how it's done.
The chapter returns to the present and shows the monk guards defending the Senkutsuji temple from the Hishaku's hired assassins. However, they feel it's hard to keep up with so many charging at once. At that moment, Samura appears wielding his blade.
Meanwhile, Hakuri asks Uruha whether Samura is truly blind since it seems like he can see. He wonders whether the blind swordsman fights using his sense of smell. However, a female Masumi tells Chihiro in Kagurabachi chapter 51 that Samura can only use smell to detect his old friends whose smells he knows.
The other Masumi informs everyone Samura has joined the battle. Hakuri urges Uruha and others they should help. However, the Masumi feel they must not meddle if Samura is fighting. The chapter switches to Samura, who apologizes to the almighty for defiling the sanctuary.
He lights up his cigarette and almost empties it in seconds. The blind swordsman then brutally cuts down the assassins. Kagurabachi chapter 51 reveals Samura attack sounds. When an enemy adapts to it, he uses the echolocation to detect his foes.
During the battle, the blind swordsman attacks with his sword and sheaths it. Based on the reverberations, he can detect the size and direction of his enemies. Uruha tells Hakuri it's all possible because of Samura's lightning-fast Iai drawing technique.
Kagurabachi chapter 51 reveals that Uruha learned Iai from Samura, but he's still nowhere as good as him. He also feels that not a single soul would have been lost at Kokugoku if he had Samura's skills. Meanwhile, the fallen assassins use Datenseki to gain immense power.
However, they pose no challenge to Samura's wrath, who decimates them. Kagurabachi chapter 51 ends with the revelation that Samura is the contracted owner of the Enchanted Blade Tobimune.
