Kagurabachi chapter 51 recap
The chapter begins with a flashback scene, where Shiba brings Chihiro to Samura's place. It is revealed that Samura blinded himself to get rid of worldly desires since those dull the judgment and blades. Moreover, he acted as a mentor to Chihiro Rokuhira, teaching him the art of swinging his sword without hesitation.
Following that, the chapter returns to the present and focuses on the Senkutsuji temple, where the Hishaku's assassins launch an all-out attack. The monks who guard the temple try to defend their fortress but find it difficult to counter against the assassins' sheer numbers.
At that moment, Samura joins the battle. Meanwhile, Hakuri wonders whether Samura combats using his sense of smell. However, one of the Masumi reveals the blind swordsman can only use it to detect his old friends whose scents he knows.
During the conversation, one of the Masumi reveals that Samura has gone to fight the enemies. Hakuri feels they must hurry and protect him since he can't see. However, the Masumi assures Hakuri they must do nothing when he's fighting.
The chapter then showcases Samura slicing up the assassins with his blade. It is revealed that he attacks sounds, and when an enemy adapts to them, he uses the echo location to detect them.
Samura's fighting strategy involves striking his sword and sheathing it in a flash. Based on the reverberations, he can gauge his enemy's size and direction. It's all possible because of his quick Iai drawing technique.
Uruha also learned the technique from Samura, but he's not as good as his master. He knows that not a single soul at the Kokugoku Sanzo would have lost, had Samura been there.
Meanwhile, the fallen assassins use Datenseki to counterattack Samura, but the blind swordsman cuts them all down. The chapter ends with the revelation that Samura, the blind swordsman, is the former owner of the Enchanted Blade Tobimune.
What to expect in Kagurabachi chapter 52? (speculative)
Considering how the chapter ended, Kagurabachi chapter 52 will likely show Samura fighting more enemies. There's still the other Hishaku sorcerer, who was with Hirohiko at the station. He could ambush Samura in the temple and put up a decent fight against the blind swordsman.
Besides that, Kagurabachi chapter 52 could shift the focus to Chihiro Rokuhira's battle against Hirohiko and the Datenseki users. It's been two chapters since Chihiro featured in a battle in the manga.
