Hakuri Sazanami puts his life on the line and tries to activate his sorcery powers. He knows all he has to do is touch either Samura or Uruha to register them in his Storehouse. Yet, his fatigue overcomes him and makes the boy unconscious.

Meanwhile, the Makizumi demonstrate their skills to keep up with the swarming Hishaku assassins. One of the female Makizumi members feels they may require assistance from a contracted sword bearer. Following that, the chapter reveals the lore surrounding the Makizumi.

According to the chapter, the Makizumi are a Ninja family that goes back centuries. In each generation, the Makizumi choose their master and loyally serve them as their tools. In the Seitei war, the Makizumi aligned themselves with the organization that later became the Kamunabi.

Although many perished in the war, their descendants continued to serve the Kamunabi. Eventually, the Makizumi chose Samura as their master since they were the ideal choice to guard the blind swordsman. However, Samura detested their overprotective behavior.

He wanted them to impose on each other if they were to live at the Senkutsuji temple. At present, Samura uplifts the spirits of the Makizumi and launches a counterattack. Meanwhile, Uruha and the female Makizumi member feel Samura may not escape.

That's when Uruha gets an idea. He uses his bloodlust to guide Samura to the Makizumi's drawn mandala, transporting the contracted sword bearers and Hakuri outside. Samura becomes furious and wants to return, but Uruha reminds him that they can't afford to risk their lives, which are already heavy with burdens.

At that moment, Hakuri Sazanami uses his Sorcery Powers, albeit in an injured state, to register Samura and retrieve his Enchanted Blade, Tobimune. The blind swordsman exercises the Crow ability of the blade to kill many Hishaku sorcerers swiftly. The chapter ends with Samura initiating his counterattack, wielding his Enchanted Blade.

Kagurabachi chapter 57 will likely show Samura taking on the main Hishaku sorcerer at the Senkutsuji temple. He will look to demonstrate the true extent of his Tobimune Enchanted Blade and its abilities. Besides that, the chapter may also show the Hishaku using their unknown trump card against Samura.

On the other hand, it will be interesting to see what Uruha and Hakuri do. Hakuri barely managed to use his sorcery powers, so he is unlikely to do it again to retrieve Uruha's Enchanted Blade. As such, the Hishaku may ambush Uruha to eliminate him. Kagurabachi chapter 57 could also shift the focus to Chihiro and show his conversation with Hiruhiko.
