In the previous chapter, Seiichi Samura unveiled his real nature and revealed why he wanted to kill the contracted sword bearers. Hakuri Sazanami, who was injured, tried his best to summon Chihiro to the temple.

Kagurabachi chapter 59: Chihro fails to win against Samura, Shiba comes to his rescue

Picking up the events from the previous chapter, Kagurabachi chapter 59, titled Blackout, commences with Chihiro Rokuhira stunned to see Samura's deeds. The blind wielder says Chihiro reeks of blood. Meanwhile, the Enten user notices Uruha's lifeless body lying in the pool of blood, and Hakuri lying across him.

Samura interrupts Chihiro's thoughts and assures him that Hakuri is safe. However, Chihiro is still at a loss for words, as he can't comprehend Samura's intentions. Suddenly, the boy recalls Hiruhiko telling him that Samura doesn't think of the Sword Saint, i.e., the original wielder of the Shinuchi blade as a hero.

Chihiro becomes further enraged as he remembers Hiruhiko wielding Kumeyuri, the blade his father forged in the past. He lashes at Samura, asking why he would let Hishaku, the organization that killed his father, have the Enchanted Blade. Samura doesn't say much but realizes Chihiro has chosen the path of revenge.

He calmly tells Chihiro in Kagurabachi chapter 59 to lay down his sword and let him handle the rest. However, Chihiro doesn't listen. Rage engulfs him as he charges toward the blind swordsman.

However, Chihiro is no match for Samura, who cuts him down in a flash. Kagurabachi chapter 59 shows Chihiro Rokuhira falling to the ground in cold blood. Samura then says he can't let the boy tread such a treacherous path any longer.

As he's about to cut him, Shiba arrives in Kagurabachi chapter 59. He grabs Chihiro and teleports to a roof further from Samura. Shiba, who is seemingly concerned, demands an answer from Samura for his actions.

Just then, the blind swordsman says the Hishaku know about their sins, and they intend to reveal the secret to bring the country to ruin. Moreover, Samura feels the sword bearers can never escape the curse as long as they are hailed as heroes; only death can free them.

He also respects Shiba's decision to keep Chihiro Rokuhira in the dark about the Enchanted Blade users' original sin. That said, he plans on bringing an end to everything. Kagurabachi chapter 59 then shows Chihiro Rokuhira losing consciousness in Shiba's arms. Two hours later, an unidentified narrator announces the death of Yoji Uruha and Chihiro Rokuhira.

The narrative of Kagurabachi chapter 59 switches to the Hishaku's base, where Hiruhiko mentions how Chihiro vanished before his eyes. Meanwhile, the other Hishaku sorcerer, who was with Hiruhiko at the station, heals his severed hand with his sorcery powers. The unnamed sorcerer feels Hiruhiko was lucky that Chihiro was sent to Senkutsuji.

Yura, the leader of Hishaku, who is at the scene feels sorry for Hiruhiko. Just then, Hiruhiko asks Yura why he won't let him use Kumeyuri. He wants to demonstrate its powers. Just then in Kagurabachi chapter 59, Samura demonstrates Tobimune's Owl ability.

A pair of giant owl eyes appear in the sky, which acts as surveillance. Samura then enters the Hishaku's base and lashes at Yura for murdering another innocent life. Yura appreciates Samura's remarks but mentions the fruits of the results. They could release the Enchanted Blades and incapacitate Hakuri Sazanami, who could be a huge threat to them.

Samura feels the massacre could have been prevented if the Hishaku had given him the Tobimume blade from the start. However, Yura reminds him that it was risky for them to use their "trump card." Besides, many Hishaku members don't want to collaborate with an outsider.

Following that in Kagurabachi chapter 59, Samura reminds Yura about their promise. The Hishaku leader assures he won't break it. According to the chapter, immediately after Kunishige's death, Samura went to his residence and struck a deal with the Hishaku.

In exchange for cooperating with their plans, Samura wanted the personal information of every Hishaku member, the name of the informer within the Kamunabi who leaked the location of Kunishige's residence, and the location of the Enchanted Blades.

On the other hand, Yura feels Samura has gone all out, especially since he killed Chihiro Rokuhira. The blind swordsman says he had no choice because he was going to get in the way. Moreover, he feels the deep sins of the contracted bearers must be punished.

Meanwhile, Hiruhiko is shocked to hear Chihiro's death and wants to avenge him. Samura doesn't give the sorcerer much attention. However, he reminds Yura and others that once their deal is complete, he will kill everyone in Hishaku. The unnamed Hishaku sorcerer knows the risk that comes with keeping Samura on their side. The agreement will force them to act like blind swordsmen one day.

According to Kagurabachi chapter 59, Samura would have killed Hiruhiko if Yura hadn't quarantined the blade. Thus, he sees no reason to go after him now. However, the moment he senses the sword, he will hunt him down. Meanwhile, he wants to kill the remaining contracted sword bearers.

Samura asks Yura for information. However, the Hishaku leader reveals the Kamunabi have changed their defenses, mainly because of Shiba's influence. Thus, he requires at least a week to understand their barriers and how their forces are positioned.

As Samura leaves the scene, the unnamed Hishaku sorcerer wonders whether they can face the blind swordsman. Yura says it can't be helped. Besides, he wouldn't have played that card if it was reckless. Elsewhere in Kagurabachi chapter 59, Chihiro Rokuhira regains consciousness in a hospital bed. The chapter ends with Samura planning to end everything in a week, so Chihiro doesn't need to become one of the sinners.

Kagurabachi chapter 59 has nicely set the stage for the next stage of the Sword Bearer Assassination Arc. The chapter revealed the deal Samura made with the Hishaku and the power disparity between Chihiro and Samura. It's clear that Chihiro isn't ready to face Samura yet.

Now, it remains to be seen how the Kamunabi and others save the remaining Sword Bearers. Since the fortresses have been vacated, they have probably been relocated to the main base. It remains to be seen how Chihiro proceeds from hereon.
