Meanwhile, the Masumi members and Chihiro discussed their next course of plans.

In the previous chapter, Chihiro Rokuhira discovered how he miraculously survived his death. Although his Life Contract with Enten was severed, Chihiro wielded the blade again to confront Samura. The Kamunabi formed an Anti-Samura squad, employing Chihiro to the Masumi group.

Kagurabachi chapter 61: The Masumi discuss their next operations with Chihiro Rokuhira

Kagurabachi chapter 61, titled Night Battle, commences with the Masumi members discussing their operations with Chihiro Rokuhira. The Masumi's captain divulges details on how they operate and crowns Chihiro as the temporary "new master." Chihiro feels they are quite overprotective. Meanwhile, the Masumi captain asks Chihiro whether he knows anything about Uruha's status.

According to Kagurabachi chapter 61, Chihiro Rokuhira hasn't heard anything about Uruha. The Masumi captain thinks it's only fair since it's not often the forensics get a specimen with an Enchanted Sword Contract of 18 years. However, he seconds Shiba's opinion from before and feels they shouldn't get their hopes up.

The Masumi captain then mentions how the Kamunabi, Hishaku, and Samura are in a three-way deadlock. As per Kagurabachi chapter 61, while Chihiro was resting, the Kamunabi sent the Masumi on a mission. They found no trace of the Hishaku. The Masumi captain thinks it's eerie for the Hishaku not to make a move, especially after the rampage they caused at the temple.

That said, the other Masumi member commends Chihiro for acquiring solid intel on Hishaku. On the other hand, they acknowledge how Samura has left a huge trail for them with the Owl technique. The Masumi member thinks they can reach Samura's location if they trace the Spirit Energy to its source.

The officials speculate it's an Enchanted Blade detector. However, the Masumi captain says they shouldn't make haste. Samura will come to kill Chihiro whenever he draws Enten. Thus, they can fight Samura any time they want. However, the Masumi captain doesn't want to take the risk because Samura is the only one who can put pressure on the Hishaku.

If they launch into a battle against the blind swordsman without intel on the Hishaku, it could lead to devastating consequences. Thus, the Captain urges Chihiro not to draw his sword. Following that, he informs Chihiro about their next plan.

Kagurabachi chapter 61: The Masumi inform Chihiro about Samura's daughter and plan their action

The narrative for Kagurabachi chapter 61 momentarily shifts to the Kamunabi headquarters, where the bearded officer mentions a hostage to someone. Apparently, the Kamunabi wanted to leverage Samura's daughter, since she was his only weakness.

However, the girl died of acute heart failure two years ago. On the other side, Chihiro Rokuhira doesn't know about the existence of Samura's daughter, since he only visited his house a few times. That said, he knew that Samura and his wife divorced a long time ago and were living apart.

That's when the Masumi captain informs the truth to Chihiro Rokuhira. According to Kagurabachi chapter 61, when the Masumi captain heard about Chihiro returning to life, he wondered whether officiating "death" was Samura's way of distancing people whom he cared about from danger.

It is also revealed that during their service to Samura, the blind swordsman used the Masumi as Ninja only once to fake her daughter's death. Three years ago, the Kamunabi put the contracted sword bearers' families under surveillance, restricting their activities for safety.

However, Samura didn't want to let his daughter endure that. That's why, he ensured his daughter lived under a secret identity. Meanwhile, Chihiro feels it's unethical for them to use Samura's daughter as leverage. However, the Masumi reminds him about the Hishaku.

According to the Masumi captain in Kagurabachi, Hishaku won't let Samura do as he pleases once their contract is over. They might want to keep something as leverage. The Masumi captain speculates the Hishaku may know about the blind swordsman's daughter's actual status.

The other Masumi member feels it's impossible to know since the girl is practically undetectable. However, the female Masumi member reminds him that it's possible if they pay attention to the slight inconsistencies with the fake body. Even with that, she feels there's no way to track the girl because of a specific spell cast on her.

According to Kagurabachi chapter 61, the spell makes it impossible for others to recognize the girl as Samura's daughter. In fact, she also doesn't know about her original identity. Samura sacrificed their connection to ensure his daughter's safety.

Although it's practically impossible to detect her presence, the Masumi captain doesn't want to take the Hishaku lightly. He knows the threat they possess, given how they undid the seal on the Shinuchi Enchanted Blade and succeeded in assassinating Kunishige.

Following that, Chihiro asks the Masumi girl if there's a way to know if the spell is intact. She reveals that she can detect it, if something changes. So far, there hasn't been an issue. On the other hand, the Masumi captain suggests taking Samura's daughter into their custody, as it would serve as a check against both the Hishaku and Samura.

Chihiro then asks them about the girl's whereabouts. According to Kagurabachi chapter 61, Samura's daughter is in Kyoto. Following that, the narrative shifts to two Hishaku characters at a convenience store. One of them, named Kuguri, is seen carrying an Enchanted Blade.

The other Hishaku member scolds him for it. However, Kuguri mentions how Sojo said it was important to deepen one's understanding of the sword. Unfortunately, he can't do it, as it's contracted to someone else. At any rate, the other Hishaku member says it's almost time.

Apparently, they are on a mission to kidnap Samura's daughter. However, they don't know how to find her. Thus, they choose to follow Yura's advice and wait for the right moment. Kagurabachi chapter 61 ends with a panel featuring Samura's daughter studying in a classroom.

Takeru Hokazono has made a nice twist to the narrative by introducing Samura's daughter in Kagurabachi chapter 61. The inclusion expands the arc's scope, as Chihiro Rokuhira has to go to Kyoto with the Masumi members. It remains to be seen whether he temporarily joins the same school as Samura's daughter.

Yet, before that, he has to learn about her identity. On the other hand, Kagurabachi chapter 61 introduced two new Hishaku members, one of them named Kuguri. While the chapter doesn't reveal anything about their abilities, they have already made their presence felt. It remains to be seen what direction Hokazono goes in the next few chapters.
