In Boruto: Two Blue Vortex, the possibility of Kaguya Otsutsuki's return has sparked speculation among fans. Adding fuel to the fire are the story's recent developments, which suggest that Jura might play a pivotal role in this. A central in Naruto's climax, Kaguya was sealed away, thus leaving the door open for a possible return.

Now, as Boruto: Two Blue Vortex dives deeper into the lore of the Otsutsuki Clan, the stage for Kaguya's return becomes increasingly plausible. For this, the leader of the Shinju, Jura, might be crucial. The connection between Jura and Kaguya is yet shrouded in mystery, but clues point to their shared ties. Jura’s motivations and abilities could be vital in breaking the seal that confines Kaguya.

As such, this is what a recently surfaced theory explores. Here's a closer look.

Boruto: Two Blue Vortex: Jura might be why Kaguya returns

In Boruto: Two Blue Vortex, the Shinju seem presently unaware of Kaguya Otsutsuki. However, they, especially Jura, have displayed a thirst for knowledge. This thirst will eventually lead them to learn about the Rabbit Goddess. If that happens, Jure might have three possible motives for unsealing her.

First, given her importance, she'd be his best bet to learn about the Shinobi World, so he would look to free her to satisfy his curiosity. Second, believing that Jura is the juvenile Ten Tails' reincarnation, he would feel a certain kinship towards the original Ten Tails. This would thereby lead to Jura seeking Kaguya out and unsealing her.

Finally, the Shinju's innate instinct - to absorb all chakra - could lead to their search for the original Ten Tails. Fans will remember that Kaguya also desired to possess all chakras, possibly being governed by the Ten Tails' innate instinct post-absorption.

With Kaguya in the picture, the Shinju would look to get to her, which is where Bug finds use. Given that he can pinpoint Eida, it wouldn't be a task to kidnap her and have her use the Senrigan to locate Kaguya's whereabouts. Again, this talk of Kaguya is due to her silent presence in the series. It comes in the forms of Sumire’s seal being tied to Kaguya, Sasuke searching for her dimension, Momoshiki being the threat she feared, Isshiki's origins, etc.

The Boruto anime also refers to Kaguya's eventual resurgence. Kagemasa's character may have foreshadowed Boruto's future and a potential alliance with Kashin Koji. His outfit, hairstyle, and mask matched Koji's, teasing an entangled fate. Moreover, this is strange when Boruto dresses as Kagemasa and says,

“Forgive me, Goddess of Destiny”

This was before referencing “genesis” and “darkness,” thereby hinting at him unsealing Kaguya.

The dialogue was in line with the Infinite Tsukiyomi and Divine Genesis jutsu. While the Shinju might drive this plot, Boruto could potentially unseal her. There are parallels between the Mitsuki Disappearance Arc and the manga. The Fabrications seemingly foreshadowed the Shinju, while Garaga was like Koji and Momoshiki. The Akuta look tied to the Claw Grimes, with the Fabrications resembling sentient Akuta, akin to the Shinju being sentient Claw Grimes.

Furthermore, Akkun’s (baby Akuta) rabbit-like traits and interactions may have hinted at Kaguya, the Rabbit Goddess's return, and the Shinju going after her while reflecting on life (episode 81). Finally, as Eida using her Senrigan to locate Kaguya was mentioned, a moment in the anime might hint at it. This happens during the Great Sea Battle of Kirigakure Arc. Jibiki’s sensory ability to view locations directly references Eida’s all-seeing Senrigan.

The Funato Clan is very similar to the Otsutsuki, their control over water symbolizing likely Chakra. Key characters like Ikada and Tenma parallel Kawaki and Code, respectively, while Jibiki parallels Eida. As a cherry on top, Jibiki’s Water Release to free Araumi Funato (oddly similar scar to Boruto) further fuels the prospect of Boruto unsealing Kaguya.

Final thoughts

This recent Boruto: Two Blue Vortex is detailed with sufficient evidence to back its points. As such, that is what makes it so convincing and compels the readers to connect the dots themselves to conclude. Undoubtedly, the points mentioned previously are solid and could be hinting at a possible Kaguya Otsutsuki return.

However, bringing Kaguya back could be good and bad. It would be great to see such an important figure return and see how her role evolves in this new story. The Shinju being present will further elevate such an interaction. But Kaguya's return might, somehow, diminish the ending of Naruto. She served as the final boss who was defeated and sealed away.

Now, the sequel's purpose should be to bring forth something even more powerful and dangerous, not exactly an old character for the same job.
