Kaiju No. 8 chapter 111 began with a brief flashback which showed Kafka asking Gen Narumi to help him with training to hone his berserker form into a battlefield-ready tool. Narumi initially was cautious but agreed after Kafka convinced him, adding he also had something he wanted to test out. As Narumi warned him about possibly not being able to turn back, the focus returned to the present, where Kafka finished his transformation and told Mina to cover him.

She lamented that she couldn’t stop him, but decided all she could do now was lean on her resolve to support him and fight side-by-side with him. Kafka then rushed at No. 9, it seemingly looked overwhelming to him at first as Mina provided cover fire. She also informed the command of their plan to lure No. 9 to drop site number 14, which was seemingly significant. No. 9 then began analyzing Kafka’s powers, teasing that he knew the origin of them as they fought.

Mina, Kafka, and No. 9 then reached drop site number 14, with Kafka saying it was going perfectly as he approached 20 seconds left in his berserker state. No. 9 then also realized where they were, but Kafka hit him with one of the attacks he still had saved to keep him in place. The issue ended with Kafka calling out to Mina, as it was revealed they came here for Mina’s signature weapon, which she was already charging up to fire at No. 9.

What to expect from Kaiju No. 8 chapter 112 (speculative)

While Kafka and Mina seem to have the upper hand as it stands heading into Kaiju No. 8 chapter 112, it’s more likely than not that No. 9 will somehow get out of this scenario. This will likely then force Kafka to try to maintain his berserker form for longer, having Narumi’s words about not turning back in the aforementioned flashback ring true.

Chapter 112 might even see Narumi himself arrive on the battlefield, especially since Reno Ichikawa and the Fourth Division’s arrival likely freed up forces. If Narumi does appear to help out, this will likely be at chapter 112’s end to set up a cliffhanger.
