Following the exciting events of the previous issue, which set up a major powerup for protagonist Kafka Hibino, fans are desperate for Kaiju No. 8 chapter 117 spoilers. This is incredibly understandable, as the process of attaining this powerup will seemingly be the biggest lore drop the series has gotten thus far.

Unfortunately, verifiable spoilers for Kaiju No. 8 chapter 117 are unavailable as of this article’s writing and are unlikely to be made available prior to its upcoming release. This is due to the manga’s digital publication nature via Shonen Jump+, which inherently mitigates a spoiler process creation to the point of being a near-impossibility.

That being said, there are thankfully some aspects of Kaiju No. 8 chapter 117 and its events that fans can likely predict with some accuracy, even without the help of spoilers. This includes an answer on what the Flying Larva that infected Kafka at the onset of the series was, as well as its relation to the oni-mask warrior, the Meireki Era Mega Monster, and more.

Kaiju No. 8 chapter 117 likely to confirm Meireki Era Mega Monster as the biggest threat in the series

Kaiju No. 8 chapter 117 will likely open up with an immediate focus on what Kafka is experiencing and visualizing with the help of the Flying Larva and the oni–mask warrior. This will almost certainly take him back to a point in Japanese history from several centuries prior, possibly even as far back as the Heian Era. In any case, a focus on history is almost certainly coming, itself likely to primarily highlight the Kaiju-fighting practices of the day at first.

This should prompt the introduction of the oni-mask warrior, revealing them to be the greatest Kaiju slayer of their day. It’s unlikely that Kafka will have any sort of familial relation to the oni-mask warrior, but it is possible that they’ll be the ancestor of someone he knows. The ancestor of either Soshiro Hoshina or Gen Narumi seems likely, but having it be Mina Ashiro’s ancestor would also add a unique layer of complexity.

In any case, Kafka will likely see the oni-mask warrior in action against regular, plain Kaiju before seeing how they’re respected by their contemporaries. This will likely lead to significant expository focus, where either the Flying Larva or the spirit of the oni-mask warrior within Kafka will elaborate on the state of Kaiju affairs at the time. This should prompt the mention of the Meireki Era Mega Monster (Meireki for short), bringing with it a change in focus.

From here, one of two focus shifts are the most likely to occur. The first would likely be a shift in focus to the Flying Larva’s perspective, showing its role in Kaiju “society,” for lack of a better term, and its origins as well. More likely than not, the Flying Larva will be revealed as one of the Meireki Era Mega Monster’s failed creations. The issue will likely end with the Flying Larva being exiled, setting up their meeting the oni-mask warrior in the subsequent release.

The second possibility for Kaiju No. 8 chapter 117’s closing focus is to see the oni-mask warrior in a war council regarding Meireki. After growing frustrated for whatever reason, the oni-mask warrior will likely depart to clear their head and think on how to defeat Meireki. This should prompt the issue to end with the oni-mask warrior and Flying Larva running into each other, mirroring Kafka’s original encounter with the creature.
