Kaiju No. 8 chapter 117 began with the oni-mask warrior once again telling Kafka to deepen his connection with his powers. This prompted Kafka to appear on an ancient battlefield, wearing and wielding the same armor and weapons as the oni-mask warrior. Innumerable other soldiers had similar gear equipped. Kafka was then shocked to see the army of warriors take on a giant Kaiju with such primitive gear and weapons, which necessitated the use of parasites to function.

A dumbfounded Kafka was motionless and likewise needed to be saved when an attack from the Kaiju almost hit him. His savior was none other than Soshiro Hoshina’s ancestor, also a swordsman. Eventually, the Kaiju was brought down, which impressed Kafka greatly. However, the Kaiju then revealed itself as the Meireki Era Mega Monster, also splitting the Kaiju’s body open to reveal innumerable eyes like it did No. 9 in the present.
