Kaiju No. 8 episode 11 recap
Kaiju No. 8 episode 11 began with Isao Shinomiya and other Defense Force higher-ups ordering Kafka to be brought in. The focus then shifted to Kafka’s detainment and transfer, where Mina and Hoshina ignored him. As he was escorted into a convoy van, Ichikawa spoke out of line and said they all were sure he’d come back. In the van, Mina said no one in the Third Division viewed him as an enemy and that they were working to ensure his safe return.
Kafka asked Mina if he could still strive to stand by her side, to which she said she’d always be waiting. The other Third Division recruits were seen hoping Kafka would come back and praise him, while Kikoru pleaded with her father about Kafka. However, Isao rejected her pleas as x-rays revealed Kafka’s “heart” was actually a Kaiju core. Meanwhile, Mina, revealed to her recruits that they’d be sent to other bases temporarily while Tachikawa base was repaired.
The focus then shifted back to Kafka, who was released from his restraints at Isao’s request. However, it was revealed Isao intended to fight him with the No. 2 weapon, wanting to prove Kafka was a Kaiju. They began fighting, with Kafka trying to dodge but continuously getting thrashed. The episode ended with Kafka losing control to the Kaiju inside him as both Isao and Kikoru seemed slightly worried by this sudden, erratic change in behavior.
What to expect from Kaiju No. 8 episode 12 (speculative)
Kaiju no. 8 episode 12 will be titled Hibino Kafka and as indicated by the name of the next episode, it would be heavily focused on the protagonist's ideals and his character. The episode would also be the finale of this Spring 2024 anime series, so fans can expect the episode to be action-packed as Kafka was fighting Isao in the previous episode's climax.
The preview trailer showcased the flashback of Kafka and Mina where they swore to have each other's back, hinting that Kafka could return to the side of his friends. But the trailer also showcased Kafka's Kaiju form going berserk and beat Isao who couldn't do anything against him. Will Kafka regain consciousness or would his Kaiju form kill the man who could be his final salvation?
