The Naruto series has given fans some of the most exhilarating action sequences, all thanks to characters who were incredibly skilled in the art of combat. One such character in the animanga series is Kakashi. While he might partake in tomfoolery every now and then, he was feared by many villages.
He was a massive asset to Konohagakure because his very existence was a threat to aggressors. Neighboring villages would have to think multiple times before they could even think of infiltrating Konoha. However, fans had an interesting discussion surrounding this character.
They were deliberating on the effect he would have on Akatsuki as a member of the organization. If Kakashi was a part of the Akatsuki, then things would have been quite dicey for Naruto in the story. Taking a look at the organization’s goals and analyzing Kakashi’s abilities as a shinobi will give us an understanding of why he would be a threat to the protagonist.
Understanding how Kakashi could have been the biggest threat to Naruto as a member of the Akatsuki
Kakashi Hatake was one of the most feared shinobis in the series. He had access to a Sharingan which allowed him to copy some of the most complex ninjutsu techniques in a matter of seconds. He also mentored Sasuke and cultivated his skills at a young age. While he might not have been the best mentor to Naruto, he certainly played a part in his development as well. Not only was he their mentor, but he also ensured the protagonist’s safety.
Since he was responsible for Team 7, he ensured their safety from the shadows. He was also a former member of the Anbu Black Ops, which meant that he was able to perceive threats far earlier than the average shinobi. He is also a master tactician who constantly evaluates the situation before taking a call. He has proven time and again that he can strategize and come up with the best possible solution in some of the toughest situations.
If he was a member of the Akatsuki, things would have been quite difficult for Naruto. He was the Nine-Tailed Beast Jinchuriki, and the organization attempted to retrieve Kurama. This is also why there were numerous attempts to catch him. With Kakashi on their side, the likelihood of covertly retrieving the Nine-Tailed Beast Jinchuriki would have been substantially higher. Kakashi’s combat abilities would have also given the organization the edge over numerous fights that they’ve had.
Kakashi was a pillar of strength that Konoha relied on during times of distress. He took on several members of the Akatsuki as the story progressed. He even took on Obito during the Fourth Great Ninja War. Kakashi joining the Akatsuki would have tipped the scales in their favor, potentially allowing them to get their hands on Naruto and extract Kurama from him.
In conclusion
If Kakashi had joined the Akatsuki, the organization would have been far more powerful. At the same time, Konohagakure would have suffered a great loss, weakening their defenses considerably. Furthermore, the organization would have succeeded in extracting Kurama from the protagonist, forever changing the landscape of the war that would take place eventually.
