Kawaki's claim from Boruto's opening flashforward could be the result of a second Omnipotence use

One of the most compelling and confusing parts of the Boruto series is the time jump at the beginning where a grown-up Boruto Uzumaki is shown fighting with Kawaki in the Hidden Leaf Village that was destroyed. The scene is crucial to storyline development as it is the trigger for a multitude of fan theories and sets up a rather dark series.

The coexistence of Kawaki's exclamation, "The age of shinobi is over," and of Boruto's firm stance, "I'm still a shinobi," suggests a serious change in their world. An interesting theory suggests that this significant shift could be due to the second use of the remarkable capability called Omnipotence.

To fully understand the theory of a second Omnipotence use, we need to retrace the initial application of this ability by Eida. In the series, Eida's use of Omnipotence leads to a big change in the reality. The changes are so intense that the roles of the two Karma wielders were swapped.

The world is convinced that Momoshiki's vessel is the one who killed Naruto, while Kawaki is recognized as the actual son of the 7th Hokage. This use of Omnipotence proves it has the power to rewrite people's memories and modify the very fundamental basis of the world.

Due to a powerful villain or a pressing level of a threat to those he cares about, Kawaki might be forced to use the Omnipotence in a distorted and complicated manner, thinking that it is only the way to ensure their safety.

In this theoretical instance, Kawaki hypothetically may ask Eida to use Omnipotence once again to take away the knowledge of chakra and jutsu from every shinobi, thus, in essence, leading them to be normal non-combatants.

In this scenario, it is not only the Village Hidden in the Leaves that is at stake, but it can also affect the entire ninja world. Without the backing of their usual powers, the village and its people would become easy prey to any threatening force.

Should the shinobi lose their ability to use their skills, the Village Hidden in the Leaves would be ravaged. Consequently, the remaining residents would have to get used to a world which, without the familiar powers they used to rely upon, may be a difficult place to live in.

The actual son of Uzumaki Naruto might be one of the very few individuals who are still left with the capacity to channel chakra and have the ability to do jutsu as well.

Depending on the situation, which is a threat for the enemy, he could alternatively go for leadership and share responsibility as he becomes one of the uniquely remaining "shinobi" in a world that has apparently forgotten what it is to be a ninja.

Kawaki's statement in the opening flashforward of Boruto: Naruto Next Generations, as a matter of fact, has triggered great curiosity, speculation, and theorizing among fans.

The probability of this claim to be the result of the second use of the Omnipotence becomes an interesting one. It can indeed bring about a story that touches upon the fact that such a powerful ability used destructively and irregularly can have severe consequences.
