The YouTube channel for Aniplex streamed a promotional video to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of Bleach. Under the production of Studio Pierrot, the anime adaptation of Tite Kubo's manga released its first episode on October 5, 2024.

The short clip featured the iconic moments from the Soul Society Arc, where Ichigo Kurosaki wielded his blade against Kenpachi Zaraki and Byakuya Kuchiki, to save Rukia Kuchiki from being executed.

Besides that, the short video showcased the memorable moments from the Hueco Mundo arc, such as Ichigo's battle against Grimmjow and Ulquiorra Cifer. Additionally, the PV featured the final battle between Ichigo and Aizen, where they crossed their Zanpakutos.

The final moments of the video saw a quick transition of Ichigo's journey, from a normal human to a Soul Reaper, and then to a Hollow. The video finally shows Ichigo in his current form, surrounded by his friends.

What's interesting is, that rather than using the old clips from the original series, Pierrot Films has animated these memorable scenes with modern animation technology, providing a movie-like quality to the PV.

In this way, the short clip reimagines the anime, almost giving the impression that it's a PV for the Bleach remake. Whether it's Rukia Kuchiki walking toward her execution or Ichigo Kurosaki crossing his Zanpakuto against the Soul Reapers, every moment has been given vibrancy.

As such, Pierrot Film's production for the 20th-anniversary promotional video shows how a remake could totally change the atmosphere of the anime. It's not a farfetched idea because One Piece recently received an announcement on a remake under Wit Studio's productions.

It would be interesting if a Bleach remake follows the same suit and gets actualized. The short clip's movie-like animation quality has fans ecstatic and they hope the production studio will eventually green-lit the show for a remake.

Why a Bleach remake would be perfect for the series

While the official staff hasn't confirmed a remake, the overwhelming reception surrounding the 20th-anniversary promotional video proves why such a decision would be financially rewarding for the studio and the staff.

The anime adaptation of the Thousand-Year Blood War arc has also garnered sound reception from fans, inviting new fans to the series. Moreover, Studio Pierrot's new subsidiary studio, Pierrot Films, has cracked the code of anime adaptations, emphasizing to focus on providing high-quality anime in a short time.

As such, if a Bleach remake were to be announced under the Pierrot Films studio, the anime could reimagine Tite Kubo's narrative in modern animation. Considering the manga is already finished, the studio won't have to worry about fillers. In this way, the remake could provide a comprehensive experience to both the veteran and new fans.
