Boruto Two Blue Vortex manga has been progressing at a steady rate. Kishimoto has done a stellar job of giving previously sidelined characters, the opportunity to shine. Currently, Himawari has become the topic of discussion among fans owing to the contents of the latest chapter.
In the chapter, Himawari seems to have gotten a power-up that fans didn’t expect. This powerup was the result of a development that shocked the entire fanbase since Kurama made his way back into the manga series.
He was killed in the anime series when Naruto used his Baryon Mode since this was a consequence of using that particular technique. Now that he is back, fans have started comparing Kurama to one of the most popular Dragon Ball characters - Piccolo, the Namekian.

Boruto Two Blue Vortex fans compare Kurama to Piccolo from Dragon Ball
Before getting into why the comparison was made, this article will look at some of the things Kurama did in the original Naruto series and the sequel series. This will help get a context for the comparison.
One of the first events that involved Kurama was the attack on Konohagakure. This was when Kushina was pregnant with Naruto and Minato was the Hokage at the time.
He decided to get on the field and deal with the Nine-Tailed Beast since it was his job to protect the village. Despite the sheer overwhelming power that Kurama had at the time, Minato managed to save the village. However, this resulted in his and Kushina’s death since they sacrificed their lives to save Naruto and other shinobis in the village. Kurama essentially killed Minato.
Since Naruto became the Nine-Tailed Beast Jinchuriki, he was forced to interact with Kurama all the time. At first, the Tailed Beast didn’t accept or acknowledge Naruto and was hostile. However, he slowly developed a close bond with Naruto and they ended up becoming quite close with each other. They had an inseparable bond and watching Kurama die was one of the most emotional moments in the sequel series.
Now, Kurama seems to have come back to the manga series because he now resides within Himawari Uzumaki. The latest chapter revealed that she is a full-fledged Jinchuriki, and this shocked the entire Boruto Two Blue Vortex fanbase. It’s quite clear that this version of Kurama harbors no anger towards her, and in fact, seems to be slightly protective of her as well.
To summarize, Kurama killed Minato, developed a really strong bond with his son, Naruto, and is now watching over Himawari, who is Naruto’s daughter. In the Dragon Ball series, Piccolo killed Goku, went on to have a strong bond with Gohan who is Goku’s son, and now watches over Pam who is Gohan’s daughter.
There are a ton of similarities between Kurama and Piccolo in terms of the role they play from a narrative standpoint. It will be interesting to see Kurama’s role and how he will evolve as the series progresses.
