The special one-hour-long premiere episode begins with a scene, where Lu Guang is seen playing basketball with his friend, Cheng Xiaoshi. With their perfect teamwork, they score a point. Following that, the episode transitions to a foreboding scene, showing a mysterious person trying to kill Lu Guang and Cheng Xiaoshi with a gun.
The man holds Lu Guang under his gunpoint and is ready to fire. However, Cheng Xiaoshi jumps forward and takes the bullet on his body. After some retaliation, Guang takes Xiaoshi to the red room. However, he can't save Xiaoshi since he has lost too much blood.
Lu Guang then returns to the time when he met Cheng Xiaoshi for the first time at the basketball court. Although he has done this plenty of times before, he hasn't been able to change the future. However, he doesn't lose hope. Eventually, Xiaoshi takes Guang to Qiao Ling's residence, where he lives.
Qiao urges Cheng Xiaoshi to become the photographer for her Anime club's Coser. Interestingly, the Coser happens to be Lu Guang. At the event, Cheng takes some nice pictures of Lu. On the other side, Qiao Ling purchases a video game and comes across a girl cosplaying Ranxi from the Ranxi Chronicles.
Qiang notices a perverted person trying to take an inappropriate picture of the girl. She intervenes and hands over the man to the security. The girl, whose name is later revealed as Miaomiao, expresses her gratitude to Qiao Ling. After having a chat with Miaomiao, Qiao Ling leaves the scene and reunites with Xiaoshi and Guang.
Just then, she discovers that her parcel has been mistakenly switched with Miaomiao's. Lu Guang then intervenes and uses his powers to find out about the girl. Meanwhile, the episode shows Miaomiao's backstory, including how her mother used to determine her life choices, robbing her of her freedom.
Although Miaomiao aspired to become a comic artist, her mother forbade her to follow her dream. Eventually, Lu Guang and others find Miamiao to return her parcel, which contains an album of her work. She takes it to the Ranxi Chronicles booth and shows it to the comic's author.
After learning about Miaomiao's dream of becoming a comic artist, the Ranxi Chronicles' author recites an experience from her life. She advises Miaomiao to keep following her dream despite the obstacles.
Meanwhile, Lu Guang, Cheng Xiaoshi, and Qiao Ling return home from the event. Just then, Zhou Xun arrives and talks about his distress. Apparently, he has developed feelings for an unknown girl named Vivian he has never met. Zhun has helped her financially from time to time to aid her sick sister.
However, the boy says Vivian has asked for 500,000. Thus, he hopes his friends will lend him some money. Qiao reprimands Zhou for falling victim to a scammer. To verify the same, Lu Guang uses his powers on some of the pictures Vivian has sent Zhou.
He realizes the pictures are fake, and Qiao Ling must be right. However, Zhou Xun still doesn't want to believe. He wants to talk to Vivian one final time. Zhou Xun calls Vivian and says he has arranged for 500,000. Yet, he's willing to give only if he meets him at a designated location.
Meanwhile, Cheng Xiaoshi wants to accompany Zhou. Interestingly, on the date day, Xiaoshi arrives at the spot earlier than Zhou, who is stuck in the traffic. Vivian arrives and she mistakenly identifies Cheng Xiaoshi as Zhou. Xiaoshi, who is connected to Guang on the phone, doesn't know what to do.
Lu Guang tells him to follow his instructions, but the boy doesn't listen. He goes ahead with the lie and introduces himself as Zhou. The duo goes to a restaurant, where Vivian confesses to Cheng that she's indeed a scammer. That's precisely why she wants to break up. Vivian adds that she has fallen in love with Zhou and doesn't want to cheat on him.
Meanwhile, Cheng Xiaoshi decides to walk Vivian to her home. Yet, on his way, an unidentified person hits him on his bed to knock him unconscious. It is revealed that Vivian's boss had instructed her to lure Zhou into a trap so they could extract money from him. However, the boss rebukes Vivian after finding out the boy isn't Zhou but a random person named Cheng Xiaoshi.
Eventually, Vivian helps Cheng Xiaoshi to get away from the trap and betrays her boss. However, she loses her life in the process, as one of her subordinates plunges a knife into her back. Lu Guang arrives at the scene, predicting the future events from a photograph Vivian clicked 12 hours ago.
After returning home, Cheng Xiaoshi regrets not being able to save Vivian. He commends Lu Guang for arriving at the right time. Later, Xiaoshi discovers a photograph of Bridon in an envelope while searching for a set of clothes.
Interestingly, the envelope is addressed to Cheng Xiaoshi's father. Meanwhile, Liu Xiao is seen talking to someone on his phone. The episode ends with Xiao ready to start the "game."

According to the preview video from the official staff, Link Click: Bridon Arc episode 2 is titled Heartbeat Game. The short clip shows Liu Xiao playing the Russian Roulette with a foreigner, presumably in Bridon. Meanwhile, Cheng Xiaoshi shows the picture and the envelope to Lu Guang.
He thinks his father must be in Bridon. Since Xiaoshi has finally gotten a clue about his father's whereabouts, he wants to go to Bridon. However, Qiao Ling reminds Xiaoshi in the Link Click: Bridon Arc episode 2 preview that Shao (presumably Xiaoshi's mother) doesn't want him to go.
