Loki from Elbaph Island might be one of the biggest calamities that would wreak havoc in the future of One Piece due to various reasons. However, this would be possible if someone freed him from his chains. Luckily, the series teased a deal between him and Luffy that might see the Straw Hat releasing him. However, this might be a facade, as someone else would free him.

Eustass Kid lost to Shanks at the start of Egghead arc. Coincidently, he was drowned on the bay of Elbaph Island, teasing that he might still be roaming the island as Eiichiro Oda hardly kills his characters. So, Kid could meet Loki, and as they both dislike Shanks, the former pirate might free the accursed prince. Moreover, no one could stop him, given the mayhem the island is currently in.

One Piece: Exploring Kid as the person who might free Loki

One Piece chapter 1132 saw the Straw Hat Pirates reunite on Elbaph Island. The giants who led to their reunion asked about their adventures, and one of them asked Luffy why he was in the Realm of the Dead.

Luffy got nervous over this question because he just made a deal with Loki. Since the details of this 'deal' are still a mystery, Loki told Luffy to keep quiet about their meeting. Given the previous events, this deal might be to free Loki from his chains in exchange for him eradicating a pirate crew of Luffy's choice.

However, this would not be the case as this wouldn't fit the personality of the Straw Hat captain. Luffy might be stupid, but not so much that he would request the assistance of someone who is against Shanks. So, who might free Loki?

The person who might free Loki would be someone who shared the same level of 'hate' for the Red-Haired Shanks, and that might only be Eustass Kid. Shanks and the Red-Haired Pirates pulverized kid during One Piece's Egghead arc. Moreover, he was drowned on the bay of Elbaph Island.

While some fans might be thinking of him as 'dead,' that would not be the case as his status wasn't explicitly stated. Moreover, Eiichiro Oda is not fond of killing his characters. So, Kid might still be alive and roaming the forests (probably the Realm of the Dead) of Elbaph Island.

Eventually, he might meet Loki there, and they would talk about their past. Seeing someone with a similar hate for Shanks, Kid might ally with Loki and free him from his chains. So, Luffy might not be the one to free Loki.

Final thoughts

Luffy's deal with Loki might be to look for someone who could free Loki. However, this might just be a deal for formalities sake as Luffy wanted to reunite with his crew. So, the prince's deal with Luffy might not be serious. This would increase Kid's chances of freeing Loki and make this theory more logical.
