Magic Maker episode 1 will air on Thursday, January 9, 2024, at 12:00 am JST. This adaptation from Kazuki Kaburagi's novel series is an isekai that tells the story of a man who dies from a heart attack and always wanted to live in a world with magic, only for him to be reborn as a child named Shion in reality where, sadly for him, magic still doesn't exist.

However, as Magic Maker episode 1 will show the audience, Shion and his Marie begin to discover a phenomenon that could be perceived as magic but is not quite there yet. Therefore, this event inspires Shion and he decides to become the pioneer of magic in this world, starting his adventure across this series, with his sister also playing a supporting role.

Premise of the series

This 2025 winter anime starts with an adult man who always dreamed about magic and wished for it to be real, which is obviously not the case. However, he eventually suffers a heart attack and dies, only for him to return as a child named Shion in another reality where he hopes that magic does exist this time around.

Much to Shion's frustration and disappointment, there is no magic in this world and decides to simply live his life in this second chance he was given. Everything seems to change when he is spending time with his sister, Marie, and they discover a phenomenon that could be considered magic, which sparks a flame of hope within Shion's heart, making him believe that perhaps this world does have what he was searching for but hasn't been discovered yet.

While the series does have its comedic angle from time to time, the bulk of the story is a fantasy tale in isekai style where Shion tries to become the pioneer of magic in this new reality of his, hence why the title of the series. Moreover, he is going to be supported by his sister Marie as they go through several ordeals and threats as the more supernatural elements of this world are revealed.

Magic Maker episode 1 is bound to introduce the character of Shion as an adult in the normal world, his death from a heart attack, and how he eventually is reborn as a child in this new reality. Moreover, the episode should introduce the premise of this isekai anime, why Shion is so interested in magic, and the call to action that makes him want to explore this new world.
