Recap of the previous episode

This 2025 winter anime starts with a young Marie playing around in the house as her parents arrive home. That is when baby Shion is introduced, who is Marie's younger brother, and the next few minutes of the episode depict them growing up, with both characters having opposite personalities but loving each other dearly.

A key moment of the episode is when Shion asks his father about the possibility of magic existing in this world, which is something that his father doesn't fully understand. They have a conversation revealing that the concept of magic is something that doesn't truly exist in this world, prompting the protagonist to feel depressed.

However, a few years down the line, Marie, along with her friend, Rose, discovers light spheres coming out from the lake, which could be magic.

The episode then has Marie trying to discover how that phenomenon happens with Shion, with Rose serving a bit as the comedic angle of the episode. As they pick up water and elements from the lake in buckets, they discover that the male and female fishes create these spheres, leading to the cast discussing the idea of marriage.

The cliffhanger reveals that Shion hails from another world and wants to be the pioneer of magic in this reality.

It is also likely that the episode is going to show the protagonist's motivations regarding his passion for magic and how that has influenced his mindset in this new reality, with Marie also having a pivotal role to play in the story.
