Monkey D. Dragon could be forcing One Piece's Celestial Dragons to make a harrowing decision, and it'd be perfect

The Celestial Dragons have been the primary antagonists within the One Piece series ever since their introduction. Although they have mostly been depicted as gluttonous and prideful individuals with no regard for entities other than themselves, their self-perceived superiority over the rest of the races has been a major part of their identity and the status of "Celestial Dragon."

Monkey D. Dragon's plan to bring down the World Government has always been a background event throughout the series, but recent developments in the story suggest that Dragon might be trying to break their identity before dismantling their regime.

Monkey D. Dragon has been one of the World Government's greatest opposing forces ever since his introduction as the most wanted person on the planet. Although his actual plan has not been revealed or even depicted in the story, his actions of liberating countries under oppression by the World Government, along with the direct infiltration of Mary Geoise, have implied a much more practical plan.

The World Government is essentially an oppressive regime run by the Celestial Dragons, the direct descendants of the 20 Kingdoms' royal families that emerged and formed the World Government near the Void Century.

Most of the Celestial Dragons, with the exception of the Gorosei and the God Knights, have virtually no combat ability.

But the common folk's deep-rooted reverence for the Celestial Dragons, along with the perception of Celestial Dragons being above normal humans, contributes to the overwhelming power difference between the two groups.

Dragon's plan and actions, which have been mentioned in small snippets throughout the numerous arcs, have revealed the Revolutionary Army's infiltration of Mary Geoise and the destruction of the supply chains and supply storage there.

While the complete aftermath of these actions remains to be seen, chapter 1125 revealed how the resulting "food shortage" created chaos among the Celestial Dragons, with many resorting to violence while proclaiming they might be in a famine.

Dragon's plan might be to starve the Celestial Dragons, forcing them to resort to eliminating and consuming fellow Celestial Dragons as a way to cope with the food shortage.

The theme of cannibalism has been previously explored in the story within Big Mom's origins, and Dragon might be trying to use this to reduce the Celestial Dragons' numbers while also lowering their public perception from being above humans to sub-human levels by making them cannibalize other Celestial Dragons.

One Piece chapter 1126 will be released on September 15, 2024, and might depict the aftermath of Saint Jaygarcia Saturn's death, along with Saint Figarland's ascension to the position of the Gorosei.

While chapter 1125 revealed details about the Gorosei's lives being directly tied to Imu and the latter's ability to end their lives at any moment, the next few chapters might develop the actual conditions within Mary Geoise following this ordeal.
