The Black Clover manga has returned with chapters 374, 375, and 376, and Sukehiro Yami and Nacht Faust were the protagonists, alongside their siblings Ichika and Morgen. When it comes to Nacht, these chapters deal greatly with the guilt he feels for killing his brother years ago and how facing his reborn Paladin version is too much for the former.

However, inspired by Yami and the path he has taken, Nacht manages to step up and make a very hard decision, which is taking the life of Morgen once again for the greater good. It was a conclusion for one of the most tragic subplots in Black Clover, and Morgen's end on the final page of chapter 376 is a lot more poetic than given credit for.

Morgen's recent ending in Black Clover is poetic and fitting for him and his brother Nacht

Nacht and Morgen's theme of darkness and light was prevalent from the moment their names were introduced since one means "Night" (Nacht) and the other "Morning" (Morgen) in German. This already establishes author Yuki Tabata's intention to display them as direct opposites despite being brothers, with the established backstory of Nacht being a selfish rebel and Morgen a kind and selfless knight.

This all comes to fruition during their battle and its conclusion in chapter 376 of the manga, with Nacht attacking and stabbing his brother from behind to take his life. Tabata makes an intelligent combination of covering Morgen in white, emphasizing his purity and innocence, as the black of Nacht's sinful past covers him, even if the latter has managed to redeem himself.

Moreover, there is also a certain tragic irony since Nacht made a lot of mistakes and grew from that to become a more noble person, while Morgen died as a kind man and was brought back to life by Lucius Zogratis to cause pain and destruction. One grew from tragedy with the help of Yami and the Black Bulls, while the other was forced to become a destroyer against his will.

The importance of Nacht's character

The vice captain of the Black Bulls entered later than the rest of the team in Black Clover, but his role in the Dark Triad arc was pivotal. He was instrumental in helping Asta form a connection with Liebe, which ultimately won them the war against the Devils, and also led the Bulls when Sukehiro Yami wasn't at their disposal.

His strict life philosophy of good things only being that if they are from the start is a clear reflection of how much guilt he feels for killing Morgen because of a failed ritual. He has stated that something that started bad and became good is still negative, which is an obvious example of how he views himself and how he thinks that he is responsible for his brother's death.

Final thoughts

The recent chapter 376 of the Black Clover manga fulfilled the idea of how something brighter, which is Morgen, grows a darker shadow, which is Nacht. The conclusion of this battle had the vice captain of the Black Bulls completing his role as his brother's shadow while coming to terms with his past and moving on from that.
