In Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 268, the Undisputed King of Curses, Ryomen Sukuna, finally met his end after being peeled away from Megumi Fushiguro's body by Yuji Itadori.

Sukuna's demise is something that a lot of fans have been looking forward to for a long time, especially since he was portrayed as an overwhelmingly powerful villain - seemingly invincible even against the collective might of the entire cast.

However, now that the King of Curses appears to be gone for good, a major part of the Jujutsu Kaisen fandom cannot help but conjure up countless theories about Sukuna's return in a potential sequel to the series, which proves just how attached fans had gotten to his presence in the series.

Jujutsu Kaisen: Countless fan theories about Sukuna's revival proves the fandom's love for the King of Curses

Jujutsu Kaisen fans are unwilling to bid farewell to their beloved series, especially since the announcement about its conclusion was an abrupt one to begin with. Many feel that the manga still has a lot of questions and plotlines left to resolve, and doing so in a matter of 2 more chapters would undoubtedly make the ending feel rushed.

This led to widespread speculation that the series may end up getting a Part 2 to continue its story, similar to Tatsuki Fujimoto's Chainsaw Man manga. While this is extremely unlikely to happen at this point in time, many fans have not yet given up hope of seeing the beloved battle shonen series continue its story.

That said, out of the many things that fans hope to see in a potential sequel, the one moment that they are most excited about, it seeing the King of Curses, Ryomen Sukuna, return to wreak havoc on the Jujutsu society once again.

Seeing fans come up with countless theories about Sukuna's revival even when the Jujutsu Kaisen manga is scheduled to officially conclude in less than two weeks from now, proves just how much fans adore the King of Curses, even after his demise.

One of the most popular theories about Sukuna's revival was shared by @BIGDADDYGOJO on X, where they predicted that the King of Curses is bound to return at some point in the series. The user-supported their theory by referring to a conversation between Atsuya Kusakabe and Hiromi Higuruma, where it was stated that curses do not supposedly weaken after death.

The general idea was that curses grew even stronger after their death. As fans may recall, in his dying moments, Sukuna declared that he is a curse. Therefore, it wouldn't be too much of a stretch to assume that the King of Curses may not be gone for good after all.

The user @BIGDADDYGOJO shared yet another post, where they claimed that not a single one of Sukuna's final moments felt like a true conclusion to his character. Given that Uraume claimed that Sukuna only suffered defeat due to being in a reincarnated form, the user hoped to see the King of Curses return in his original form in a potential Jujutsu Kaisen Part 2.

Another theory that became extremely popular among the fans, was shared by @Neferpitou55 on X, where they predicted that the final two chapters of the series would mirror the first two chapters. As such, the user claimed that Satoru Gojo may finally make his return in the upcoming chapter 270, whereas Sukuna's last finger may be eaten by Yuji Itadori once again in the final chapter.

Perhaps the most intriguing theory about Sukuna's revival yet was shared by the user @Momosuki86, who claimed that Gege Akutami may have dropped several hints about Sukuna's return in some of the final moments of the Shinjuku Showdown arc. According to the user, Sukuna's tied-up finger that Nobara Kugisaki attacked with her Resonance technique in Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 267, was not his last finger.

Moments prior to his defeat, Sukuna was seen throwing up three of his fingers in chapter 267 after being hit by a devastating punch by Yuji. However, the user claimed that Sukuna had opted to intentionally throw up his fingers, as he realized that his hold on Megumi's body was growing increasingly weak from Yuji's attacks.

As such, the user concluded that Sukuna may have planned out his own defeat, just so he could survive the encounter and eventually return to exact his revenge on Yuji and the rest of the sorcerers.

All of these aforementioned theories showcase just how much fans had grown attached to Sukuna's character, as even after his apparent death, they are expecting the King of Curses to have had one last trick up his sleeve. That said, its highly unlikely that Jujutsu Kaisen would receive a sequel anytime soon, let alone feature Sukuna's revival in the near future.
