Mushoku Tensei season 2 episode 23 preview sees Rudeus and Roxy’s new beginnings

Mushoku Tensei season 2 is just two episodes away to conclude part 2 of the second installment, making episode 23, the most-awaited of all. Given the events that transpired in the penultimate episode, fans of the series have been left in shock, as they are having a hard time getting used to the fact that the anime has killed off a major character.

Moreover, much to the protagonist’s worst nightmare, things have become even more heartbreaking for him with Zenith’s current condition. Despite being a prodigious warrior, Rudeus needs all the support he can get, and, currently, there is no other person who can comfort him other than Roxy.

Mushoku Tensei season 2 episode 23 preview showcases Rudeus and Roxy’s relationship evolve

Mushoku Tensei season 2 penultimate episode preview kicks off with a blast-from-the-past scene where Rudeus was still a kid under Roxy’s tutelage. Given this scene, it can be anticipated that episode 23 will likely explore Roxy’s perspective from the moment she was hired as the teacher of the beloved protagonist.

With this fans will also get to catch a final glimpse of Paul, as the finale is also anticipated to feature him in flashbacks to provide a heartfelt farewell to the character. With his father’s death and his mother losing her memories and speech, Rudeus is utterly devastated.

Besides losing his arm, the pain of losing both his parents has left him emotionally shattered and struggling to find solace. As seen in the preview teaser, Roxy will help him to calm down, showing a warmth and tenderness he never anticipated. Since the beginning of the series, Rudeus has been the most diligent and highly skilled student of Roxy.

However, it's not his capabilities that make Rudeus different from Roxy’s perspective but his kind and warm heart. Despite his shenanigans, Roxy believed in him and she also embarked on a journey to become a better version of herself after being inspired by his suggestion.

Meanwhile, throughout his journey, Rudeus continued to stick to Roxy’s ideals and even prayed to her every now and then like a literal god. There's nothing worse one could do in front of Rudeus to make him go berserk than to insult his master.

His loyalty and reverence to Roxy are unparalleled and one time even Zanoba had to face his wrath after Rudeus learned about Roxy’s figurine being broken. Despite that so many years have passed, Rudeus’ affection and respect for Roxy remains unfaltering.

As seen in the final moments of Mushoku Tensei season 2 episode 21, even Paul subtly suggested to Rudeus that he should marry Roxy, taking her as his second wife.

Paul also gave him a hint by explaining why he often carried two swords, symbolizing Lilia and Zenith, the two significant women of his life. However, Rudeus failed to grasp the deeper meaning.

Up till now, Rudeus never saw Roxy as a romantic partner and the feelings have been mutual. However, the relationship between them will begin to evolve in unexpected ways where they will discover romantic feelings for each other.
