Demon Slayer season 4, episode 7, had plenty of entertaining elements. The episode had an extended runtime, and this was utilized well, giving Kibutsuji Muzan plenty of screen time. The episode reminded fans of the stakes, as the leader of the Demon Slayer Corps’ life is in danger and the demon hunters must rush if they wish to save Kagaya Ubuyashiki.

There is no doubt that Muzan received the spotlight despite not doing much other than walking. The reason people are talking about Muzan is due to the walking sequence. He was seen going toward Kagaya Ubuyashiki after finding out his location with Nakime’s help.

Fans had an emphatic reaction to the walking sequence involving Muzan for various reasons, chiefly among which were the overly dramatized shots and editing style.

Why Demon Slayer fans reacted to the Muzan walk sequence

The walking sequence was a couple of minutes long, which is a ton of screen time for someone performing a simple act. The Demon King was incredibly menacing, and he slowly walked over to an already dying Kagaya Ubuyashiki, who was accompanied by Amane Ubuyashiki. The leader of the Demon Slayer Corps is on the verge of death as it is, and Muzan’s presence only increases his chances of dying.

The editing style of the walking sequence was quite similar to the Indian Soap Opera. The majority of the fanbase found a striking similarity between Muzan’s walking scene and Indian Soap Opera’s editing style.

There are a ton of exaggerated shots, plenty of cuts, and dramatic sound effects. The average media consumer would label such an editing style as overly dramatized, and fans share the same sentiment about the Demon King’s walking scene.

How fans reacted to the Muzan walking scene

"I'm assuming the entirety of the Infinity Castle section was directed by Yuichi Terao, and I did enjoy it a lot. However the depiction of Muzan's and Kokushibo's menacing nature often came off as more edgy than terrifying. Dare I say Indian soap opera energy.", said one fan
"genuinely the first thing that came to mind when I saw it. It's very similar, quick cuts with digital effects", said another
"there were a bunch of indian soap opera memes when this episode aired lol", said one netizen

It's quite clear that the fanbase saw a ton of similarity between Muzan's walk and an Indian Soap Opera editing style. The animation style was such that it had far too many cuts and featured a wide range of angles. The extensive cuts and exaggerated angles were some of the things that compelled fans to compare it to Indian Soap Opera.

As seen in the reactions, there were a couple of fans who liked the dramatized walking sequence. That being said, one cannot deny its similarity to the Indian Soap Opera's editing style. Fans are waiting in anticipation for the upcoming episode, as it will reveal Ubuyashiki's fate, now that the Demon King himself has appeared.
