Anime deuteragonists who can easily defeat Bakugo have always been a topic of debate among anime fans due to him being one of the most memorable deuteragonists to emerge in recent times.

Deuteragonists have always been a crucial part of their series alongside the main protagonists. Often, deuteragonists are direct rivals of the main protagonist, with Sasuke, Vegeta, and Killua being some of the most memorable ones.

Katsuki Bakugo is one of the most iconic deuteragonists to emerge in the recent decade. While character writing has been one of his strong suits, overall combat ability and strength play a significant role in the perception of a deuteragonist.

Comparing the abilities of numerous deuteragonists makes it possible to list anime deuteragonists who can easily defeat Bakugo.

Vegeta, Megumi, Yuno, and 6 other anime deuteragonists who can easily defeat Bakugo.

1) Vegeta (Dragon Ball series)

Vegeta has been the face of the Dragon Ball series and one of the most looked upon characters in all of Shonen, alongside Goku. While he has had his share of losses in the anime, he remains one of the strongest characters in all anime universes combined.

Vegeta’s overall speed, base-level strength, battle experience, durability, and destructiveness far surpass Bakugo's, solidifying Vegeta as one of the strongest anime deuteragonists ever.

2) Megumi (Jujutsu Kaisen)

While many might not consider Megumi Fushiguro from Jujutsu Kaisen to be one of the anime deuteragonists capable of defeating Bakugo, his close encounters with death, analytical capability, and battle experience solidify him as stronger than Bakugo.

On a base level, Bakugo might have a more fierce style of combat, but Megumi’s resourcefulness and his access to the Ten Shadows, along with his ability to use it similarly to dimensional storage, give Megumi a huge advantage over Bakugo. Even if Bakugo somehow gets through Megumi’s every attack and trick, he will not be able to do anything to Mahoraga.

3) Yuno (Black Clover)

Yuno, Asta’s rival, stands as another deuteragonist who simply overshadows Bakugo in every aspect of combat. Being loved by Mana and having a very high intellect gives Yuno a huge advantage over Bakugo.

All of this, along with Yuno’s ability to fly and his spells that dwarf Bakugo’s explosions in scale and destruction, makes Yuno the clear winner in a matchup between these two anime deuteragonists. The power level in Black Clover is fundamentally higher than that of My Hero Academia, and even then, Yuno has solidified his position as one of the strongest mages in the Black Clover series.

4) Sasuke (Naruto)

Sasuke Uchiha has been one of the most discussed and iconic anime deuteragonists ever since anime reached mainstream popularity. Being from the Uchiha clan, while being a war veteran with experience in espionage and hand-to-hand combat against literal gods, and having access to the Susanoo, makes him a clear winner in a match against Bakugo.

Bakugo wouldn’t even be able to break out of a simple genjutsu if a battle between Sasuke and Bakugo took place. Even if Sasuke’s teleportation and his Rinnegan are somehow taken away, Bakugo will never be able to breach the Susanoo, solidifying his defeat against Sasuke. However, Bakugo might just have a chance against Sasuke from the Chunin Exam arc.

5) Killua (Hunter x Hunter)

Killua Zoldyck, being from the Zoldyck family, has been trained in high-priority assassinations and sheer ruthlessness. Being the rival of the main protagonist, Gon has also ensured that he has received consistent power-ups and character development throughout the entire Hunter x Hunter series.

In a matchup against Bakugo, Killua will overshadow him in strength, speed, fierceness, and battle experience without even having to use his nen. In the worst-case scenario, an all-out match between Bakugo and Killua might end in Bakugo's death since Killua always tries to end a fight as quickly as possible.

Killua’s battle experience, resourcefulness, deception, and overall combat ability have been solidified in the Chimera Ant arc itself. This, along with his numerous close encounters with death, makes it clear that in a battle between these two anime deuteragonists, Killua will achieve an overwhelming victory.

6) Zoro (One Piece)

The deuteragonist position of Zoro has been a recurring topic of debate in the One Piece fandom. While many fans argue that Zoro is simply a fleshed-out side character, many others mention that the entire story has focused too much on Zoro for him to be a mere side character. Oda’s interviews have also alluded that Zoro is definitely One Piece's deuteragonist.

Zoro is also one of the anime deuteragonists who simply overshadows Bakugo in every aspect of combat, including speed, fierceness, base strength, and battle experience. Zoro has been shown to cut through meteors and mountain-sized stones, so it is almost guaranteed that in a fight between Zoro and Bakugo, Zoro will be victorious in every scenario.

7) Uryu (Bleach)

Uryu Ishida is one of the more unknown and underwhelming anime deuteragonists to come out in the recent decade. The early parts of Bleach focused quite a bit on Uryu and his backstory, but the focus quickly shifted to Ichigo. While many fans might think that Uryu Ishida’s combat abilities might not surpass Bakugo’s to an overwhelming degree, the TYBW arc introduced the schrift “A” Antithesis as Uryu’s ability.

This ability allows Uryu to reverse the outcome of a scenario, including injuries and exhaustion. Even if Bakugo manages to defeat Uryu in combat, Uryu can just swap the outcome and transfer all of his wounds to Bakugo and become the victor.

8) Mikasa (Attack on Titan)

Mikasa Ackerman has been one of the most memorable anime deuteragonists to come out in the last decade. While a few fans might think that a match between Mikasa and Bakugo might be close, Mikasa’s overall speed due to her use of ODM gear, her superior physical strength, hand-to-hand combat proficiency, and her greater battle experience give her an overwhelming advantage.

Even if Bakugo continuously throws huge explosions at her, Mikasa has the reaction time and expertise to evade and counterattack since she has previously battled through much harsher conditions while fighting numerous Titans.

9) Accelerator (A Certain Magical Index series)

Accelerator is inarguably one of the strongest anime deuteragonists to ever exist, simply due to his overpowered psychic ability and the expertise and intellect required to masterfully use it. He has the ability to manipulate vector quantities to his will, with the only drawback being that he has to consciously calculate the values of the vector quantities and the necessary adjustments that are to be made.

Ad

The deuteragonist from the Toaru series has abilities to create massive earthquakes, air currents, and barriers similar to Gojo’s infinity, and he has been established as quite ruthless and bloodthirsty toward any and all opponents.

Accelerator vs. Bakugo is a matchup that simply gives Accelerator all the advantages. Explosions are also influenced by and rely on vector quantities. A match between these two anime deuteragonists will end in complete humiliation for Bakugo.

Final Thoughts

My Hero Academia Season 7 Episode 11 adapted Bakugo's "death," which raised expectations for the anime going forward, especially after Studio Bones' blunders during the previous few seasons.

While Bakugo's overall combat ability might be overshadowed by many well-known anime deuteragonists, it is important to note that character writing is also a significant part of being an anime deuteragonist, and this has been one of the strong points in Bakugo's favor.
