From the very beginning, Shoto Todoroki and his family have been a major focus of the My Hero Academia series. Now that the series is set to end in August, within a few more chapters, fans are wondering how Shoto's story is going to wrap up.

Upon looking back on the series however, it seems like the mangaka, Kohei Horikoshi, may have already hinted at how Shoto's story is going to conclude, in the form of brief visions throughout the series.

Given that all these visions did foreshadow a happy ending for Shoto and the Todoroki family, all that is left now for Horikoshi to do, is to get it there and deliver a satisfying and peaceful end to the beloved character.

How Kohei Horikoshi foreshadowed Shoto Todoroki's ending in My Hero Academia

Although Shoto Todoroki initially came off as a cold and distant character, fans eventually realized that beneath his icy demeanor lay a tragic past and a conflicted present, which was the result of the abuse that he suffered at the hands of his father, Enji Todoroki, aka Endeavor.

Due to his harsh upbringing, Shoto is nestled with internal conflict and emotional turmoil throughout the series. Despite all this, the My Hero Academia manga often provided fleeting glimpses of a hopeful future for Shoto, a future filled with familial warmth and acceptance.

While those brief glimpses may have seemed improbable at the time, there's a good chance that they might have hinted at the ending that Kohei Horikoshi is currently building towards for Shoto in My Hero Academia's ongoing epilogue.

The aforementioned glimpses include one where Endeavor envisioned his family sitting together at the dinner table, laughing and enjoying each other's presence. It is something that Endeavor himself once tried to recreate at one point in the story, but failed due to his family not completely accepting his reformed self.

Another vision saw Shoto imagining a future where his family wasn't burdened with tragedy, and where his parents and all of his siblings, including Toya Todoroki, lived happily together. While such a future can be considered to be wishful thinking, given the current state of the Todoroki family as of chapter 426 of the manga, it probably isn't impossible to imagine since the manga still has a few chapters left.

Now that Endeavor has decided to officially retire and spend the rest of his son, Toya's days with him, it is possible that the Todoroki family may come together again sometime before the manga reaches its definitive conclusion.

Lastly, there was a vision where Shoto became a Hero along with the rest of his friends in Class A of U.A. High. Fortunately for fans, this ending is more likely to happen, given that Shoto and his friends are currently in their second year at the school. As such, the day when they graduate and become Pro Heroes is certainly not far away.

Since the My Hero Academia manga is scheduled to conclude in August, fans can expect to see a bit more of Shoto and his family in the upcoming chapters of the manga.

Also, seeing how the Todoroki family finally came to terms with Endeavor and his attempts to atone for his past actions in the latest chapter of the manga, a brief panel of them enjoying each other's company before the series reaches its end would certainly satisfy many.
