With the release of My Hero Academia chapter 425, it seemed like the manga was set to take a new route. While the story's "final battle" has ended, it seems the series will take some time to conclude some character's story arcs. One such story arc could be surrounding Shoto Todoroki, whose demeanor in the latest chapter suggested that he would go down a more sinister path.

The manga chapter saw the former third-year students receive their diplomas from U.A. High School. Following that, the manga revealed Class 1A getting promoted to Class 2A. Yuga Aoyama left the school to start his hero career from scratch, and Hitoshi Shinso replaced him. Lastly, the manga hinted at another plot line surrounding the Todoroki family.

My Hero Academia chapter 425 saw Yuga Aoyama leave the U.A. High School and get replaced by Hitoshi Shinso in Class 2A. The class was set to organize a farewell party for Aoyama. Generally, all students would attend such an event.

However, Shoto was adamant that he would attend the farewell party as long as it wasn't on the same day. While it is certainly acceptable for someone not to participate in a party due to personal matters, it seemed like Shoto was trying to get away from the other students in a hurry.

This was evident from the way he smiled at Deku, cutting him off mid-way and saying that he was doing okay. From the series of events, it seemed like Deku was set to ask Shoto if he was doing well, possibly due to some information he learned about the Todoroki family behind the scenes. However, until the manga unveils the same, there is no way to confirm that. Thus, fans can only assume Deku had something important to share with Shoto.

Nevertheless, Shoto Todoroki cut off what Deku was set to say and hurried off. Moreover, in the next manga panel, his expression changed entirely. This suggested that Shoto was trying to put on a facade while saying he was doing well. While the manga does not reveal what Shoto is up to, there is good reason to believe that it is something related to his older brother, Toya Todoroki.

As fans would know, Dabi was gravely injured after his battle against Shoto. Hence, many fans even believed that he died in the battle. However, the character was seemingly alive and on possible life support. This information suggests that Shoto Todoroki's next character arc will focus on his brother, Toya Todoroki.

However, the reason why one can consider Shoto walking down a sinister path is that he walked away from Deku. While this information may be trivial, manga often uses such gestures to hint at a character's future. Thus, fans must keep a close eye on Shoto in the epilogue chapters.
