My Hero Academia characters who deserved their own epilogue chapters are a great example of how a lot of people in the fandom feel the conclusion was rushed. Furthermore, author Kohei Horikoshi added an eight-year time skip that, instead of providing conclusions and answers, only generated more questions regarding the fate of a lot of people within the story.

That is because the time-skip made a lot of people wonder what happened to several of these My Hero Academia characters, making the need for epilogue chapters even more notorious. Therefore, here are, in no particular order, ten My Hero Academia characters who should have gotten their own chapters and even some of them should have gotten another one after the time-skip.

10 My Hero Academia characters who deserved their own epilogue chapters and the reasons why

1) Katsuki Bakugo

There is no denying that Katsuki Bakugo is one of the most popular and prominent My Hero Academia characters, so it baffles the mind that he didn't get a chapter focused entirely on him. That is particularly telling when considering that the likes of Ochaco Uraraka and Shoto Todoroki got chapters to conclude their character arcs and Bakugo didn't.

Bakugo is also heavily connected to the protagonist, Izuku "Deku" Midoriya, which makes it even more confusing that he didn't get a chapter. It is also very telling that Katsuki had one of the most notorious developments as a person and didn't have a moment in the epilogue to end his individual journey in the story.

2) All Might

When it comes to My Hero Academia characters, All Might was a major driving force in the story and was connected to a lot of different plot points. That makes the fact he didn't get a chapter solely focused on him all the more jarring and is a bizarre decision by author Kohei Horikoshi.

It would have been interesting to see All Might dealing with the fact that All For One was finally defeated and his mentor Nana Shimura and the other One For All users could rest in peace after decades of battle. There is also the fact that he could say goodbye to his hero career and usher in the new generation, so is weird that Horikoshi didn't give this to such a prominent character.

3) Todoroki Shoto

Shoto and his family should have gotten a chapter after the time-skip (Image via Bones).

Shoto and the rest of the Todoroki family did indeed get a chapter in the epilogue entirely focused on them. While it was an extremely well-received chapter and most agreed that the Todoroki family was among the My Hero Academia characters with the best conclusion, the eight-year time skip provided a whole new series of questions.

It would have been interesting to see how Shoto's relationship with his family was after eight years and what happened to Toya, most commonly known as Dabi, after his passing and the ramifications it had on them. This could also connect to Endeavor and see what his life came to be after so many years of retirement.

4) Ochaco Uraraka

Uraraka deserved a bit more focus after the time skip (Image via Bones).

Ochaco Uraraka's case is quite similar to the one of Shoto Todoroki as they both have chapters focused on them but the time-skip provided a whole new set of questions. It was revealed in chapter 430, the final one of the series, that Uraraka started a company to help people with Quirks and overall contribute to a better society.

While this is all well and good, it would have been interesting to see how Uraraka reached that position. It would also have been good to see how she has provided for her family and her current state with Deku, with a lot of fans feeling frustrated that this ship was never fully confirmed or rejected, annoying people who were both in favor and against said ship.

5) Spinner

Very few My Hero Academia characters amazed audiences as much as the League of Villains and Spinner was the last man standing after the final war arc. His chapter talking with Deku showed him in total despair for the loss of Tomura Shigaraki and how he wanted to tell his friend's story through a book, with the protagonist saying that the deceased villain would have preferred a comic.

Chapter 430 did show another member of the League of Villains, Mr. Compress, reading Spinner's comic eight years later. However, it would have been interesting to see how the comic came to be, how it looks, and the legacy Shigaraki and his friends had so many years after the war.

6) Hawks

There is no denying that Hawks is one of the most complex My Hero Academia characters because of his goal of creating a safer society and also being willing to do whatever it takes to make that happen. In that regard, it would have been interesting to see more of the actions and changes he made as the president of the Hero Public Safety Commission, as confirmed in chapter 426.

The time-skip doesn't show much of the changes Hawks made, thus feeling like a wasted opportunity, and doesn't give the audience a greater understanding of how things have changed after eight years. That has led to some valid criticism that author Kohei Horikoshi didn't provide enough clarity on how things changed in society.

7) Mirio Togata

One of the My Hero Academia characters with the most interesting fates (Image via Bones).

Kohei Horikoshi, as mentioned earlier, did an eight-year time skip in the final chapter of the manga and showed that one of the My Hero Academia characters, Mirio Togata, is now the Number One Hero. While that might be a harmless detail, it does feel like a monumental wasted opportunity, especially when it comes to saying goodbye to Mirio's character before the series' conclusion.

It would have been interesting to see a chapter about Mirio's rise to the top and how he accomplished his goal. That is something that could have proven to add more to this new status quo and also as a way to honor the character's legacy and the sacrifice of his mentor, Sir Nighteye.

8) Yuga Aoyama

Aoyama is one of the most interesting My Hero Academia characters when it comes to his conclusion (Image via Bones).

It is fair to say that Yuga Aoyama was one of the most interesting My Hero Academia characters because of the UA traitor subplot and how Horikoshi handled his arc. He managed to redeem himself in a very organic manner and also reached a satisfying conclusion by leaving the academy as a way to pay for his mistakes, which also gave him a degree of honor as a person and hero.

However, Aoyama is seen on the final page of the manga as a member of the heroes and would have been interesting to see his path to becoming one. Considering that he didn't have a typical road to becoming a pro hero, this would have been quite fascinating to witness in the manga.

9) Shota Aizawa

Aizawa is one of the most popular My Hero Academia characters (Image via Bones)

Shota Aizawa had to deal with a lot of difficulties and tragedies in My Hero Academia, which included the loss of his friend Shirakumo. That is something that the final war arc addresses as well as Aizawa gathering the remaining heroes to aid Deku in his last battle against All For One.

Considering how Aizawa is one of the most popular My Hero Academia characters, a chapter focused on his friendship with Shirakumo and Present Mic would have been nice to see. There is also the angle of his role as the UA teacher and witnessing his students becoming successful pro heroes.

10) Eri

Another one of those My Hero Academia characters who deserved his own chapter (Image via Bones).

Eri was one of the most important My Hero Academia characters because of her connection with Deku, Mirio, and Aizawa, and also how her abilities proved to be pivotal in some major plot points. That is why it would have been great to see more of her as a grown-up, now having greater control and agency over her life.

This would have felt like a reward for Eri after having gone through so much pain and tragedy caused by Overhaul. Plus, it would have fit with the theme of focusing on the next generation and seeing how she managed to overcome all the bad things she went through.

Final thoughts

There are probably more My Hero Academia characters who deserved their own chapters or at least should have gotten more focus in the epilogue. That is a natural byproduct of how rushed the epilogue was and how author Kohei Horikoshi added an eight-year time skip that only generated a lot more questions within the fandom.
