Given that My Hero Academia's All Might was the No. 1 Hero in the series, his winning pose quickly became popular amongst fans. After a long-fought win, he would raise his left hand with a clenched fist. He did this pose to assure fellow heroes and citizens that they were safe as he had won the fight.
With All Might having retired as a hero long ago, fans must have never expected to see the former No. 1 Hero's iconic pose ever again. However, ever so surprisingly, recent events surrounding Donald Trump at the 2024 presidential election campaign rally in Pennsylvania, saw fans recall the iconic All Might pose.
How did My Hero Academia fans find a resemblance between Donald Trump and All Might?
On July 13, 2024, former U.S. President Donald Trump was speaking at his 2024 presidential election campaign rally near Butler, Pennsylvania, when he was shot in the right ear.
Soon after being shot, Trump took cover and was surrounded by the Secret Service as they helped him to his feet. With blood visible on his right ear and cheek, Donald Trump pumped his fist in the air, shouting, "Fight! Fight! Fight!", before being escorted away.
The moment when Trump pumped his fist in the air, he resembled All Might's winning pose. Hence, fans recalled All Might and started comparing him with Donald Trump.
How fans reacted to the resemblance
Several fans agreed with the comparison as they created fanarts that saw Donald Trump being drawn in anime style. Other fans joked around saying that the pictures of Donald Trump and All Might were the same by referring to the joke from The Office US version.
Meanwhile, other fans joked around that Donald Trump had essentially won the Presidential Election. This is because such an incident generally evokes sympathy. Moreover, Trump looked fearless even after the shooting.
"This Is the same picture," one fan said.
"It is all over! Bro won the presidential 2024!!," another said.
"We got Donald Trump hitting the all might pose before GTA VI," another added.
Another fan joked about how they witnessed Donald Trump hitting the All Might pose before GTA VI got released.
However, not all fans were in favor of comparing the former United States President to the former No.1 Hero All Might. While the two pictures looked similar, they did not wish for Trump to be associated with the anime character.
This is because a good number of people in the general public were not in favor of Trump and had a poor impression of him. Hence, comparing Trump to All Might, a more-or-less universally fan-favorite character didn't sit well with them.
"They comparing Trump to All Might kill ME now," one fan said.
"Don’t compare Donald John Trump to a superhero dawg," another fan said.
"Engagement can’t be this important," other fan said.
Some fans even stated that comparing the two pictures and calling them similar was a stretch. As per them, the fans who believed that the two pictures looked similar were only making such posts for online engagements and monetization.
