My Hero Academia finale, i.e., its final chapter, will be released on Monday, August 5, 2024. Hence, before the release of the manga's final chapter, fans have been busy theorizing about what they could witness.

While many fans have speculated about a possible Deku's father reveal, others are more hopeful that Deku gets One For All back. However, there is a good reason why Deku shouldn't get back the One For All Quirk.

Izuku Midoriya was born Quirkless in a society where almost everyone was born with one. Nevertheless, he wished to become a hero like the No.1 hero, All Might. That's when an encounter with All Might saw him be granted the unique opportunity to succeed his favorite hero as the ninth One For All user.

Why shouldn't My Hero Academia finale give One For All back to Deku?

My Hero Academia finale shouldn't give the One For All Quirk back to Deku because it would make the hero's sacrifice in the final war against Shigaraki Tomura and All For One meaningless.

It would be sad for Deku to see his friends become pro heroes while he possibly could not due to being Quirkless. However, that is no reason for My Hero Academia finale to see him get his Quirk back. This is because it was Deku who chose to go along with One For All second user Kudo's plan to defeat Shigaraki Tomura.

Amid the battle, Kudo noticed cracks within Shigaraki that the One For All Quirk vestiges could amplify from within. This plan required Deku to risk everything and give up his Quirk to Shigaraki. This development was on theme for the hero as he was willing to make a real sacrifice to save everyone from the destruction that could have taken place.

Therefore, if Deku were to get back his Quirk in the My Hero Academia finale, it would make his sacrifice look meaningless, effectively losing the impact that the moment left on the series' fans.

The entire theme of My Hero Academia has been that anyone can be a hero. This idea is especially pushed by the plot developments that see people with non-combat Quirks become heroes. Hence, Deku not having a Quirk does not necessarily mean he cannot become a hero, just that he would not have the Quirks themselves.

It would also be a huge call back to the start of the series as Deku was told by All Might that he needed a Quirk to become a hero. However, My Hero Academia finale could see Deku become the world's greatest hero by giving up his Quirks to save everyone.

But this does not mean that Deku cannot become a hero anymore. Given his relationships with the higher-ups and his smartness in adapting to new conditions, Deku could likely join the support course or work with them to figure out a way through which he could still become a pro hero.

As fans would know, All Might had lost his Quirk ages ago. Despite that, he contributed to the final war and fought All For One with an armored suit. This development was essentially a gateway for non-Quirk users to become heroes as long as they had the right tools for the job.

Hence, with no Quirks, Deku could likely follow All Might's path in the My Hero Academia finale and become a hero who relies on support items and tactics, something that Deku could excel at.
