As the epilogue to author and illustrator Kohei Horikoshi’s original My Hero Academia manga series continues, fans are anxious to see what’s up next, yet desperate to delay the series’ conclusion. Unfortunately, time’s arrow marches on, and so does Horikoshi towards the finale of his manga and protagonist Izuku “Deku” Midoriya’s story.
However, there’s plenty to address on the way, likewise leaving readers desperate for any and all verifiable spoilers they can find on the upcoming issue. Unfortunately, no such leaks are available as of this article’s writing, with the series’ spoiler process typically beginning later in the release week.
That being said, there are some aspects of and events within the upcoming issue that My Hero Academia fans can count on being present in the official release even without the help of spoilers. This includes an update on the “new character” introduced earlier in the epilogue, as well as the conclusion of Himiko Toga and Ochaco Uraraka’s deeply intertwined character arcs.
My Hero Academia set to provide an update on “new character,” likely Shigaraki, after Toga/Uraraka focus
My Hero Academia chapter 428 will likely open up with a continued focus on U.A. High, briefly showing Deku returning to school and thinking to himself about Uraraka. He should in turn think of the League of Villains, prompting a shift in focus to the aforementioned new character introduced several issues prior. This new character will likely be seen experiencing what Tenko Shimura once did until coming across some sort of news broadcast discussing Toga.
The character will likely say the word “Toga” inquisitively but written clearly to indicate some sort of familiarity, as the focus shifts to Toga’s location. However, fans will likely first see Uraraka visiting Toga, whether this is in the hospital or in a prison. Either scenario should lead to the same conclusion of Toga set to go on trial for her crimes if it’s not revealed she’s already been tried and is to be imprisoned.
My Hero Academia chapter 428 will likely show her speaking with Tsukauchi about this, asking if there’s any chance she can speak with Toga while she has the time. The focus should then shift to Toga, who’ll likely look back on her life, emphasize the joy she found in connecting with Uraraka, and accept her ultimate fate as Uraraka herself walks in.

This should prompt some sort of wavering or longing from Toga as she wants to experience her new outlook on life by Uraraka’s side. However, she’ll likely remain confident and speak with Uraraka normally, not letting on that she hasn’t quite made peace with her fate to the fullest extent yet.
Uraraka should initiate a conversation regarding how unfair it is that Toga isn’t getting a second chance. Toga will likely continue to stay strong here, trying to put on a brave face for Uraraka despite knowing what almost certainly awaits her. It’s possible that Lady Nagant’s case will be brought up, as Uraraka is certainly connected enough to be aware of it.
This will most likely lead to the reveal that Uraraka has been able to spearhead the coordination of a similar offer for Toga, albeit with more red tape and probationary means. The issue will likely end with a brief conversation between Toga and Uraraka, putting a final touch on their intertwined character arcs. This also sets up the series’ final two chapters to focus on Deku, and potentially Shigaraki, as they rightly should.
