With the penultimate issue of author and illustrator Kohei Horikoshi’s original My Hero Academia manga series at hand, fans are incredibly anxious to see what happens next. Much of this anxiety stems from the conclusion of the previous issue, which seemingly set the stage for an emotional talk between Izuku “Deku” Midoriya and Ochako Uraraka about Himiko Toga’s fate.

Likewise, readers are desperate for any and all verifiable My Hero Academia manga spoilers they can get their hands on. Unfortunately, these spoilers are wholly unavailable as of this article’s writing but are expected to begin releasing later this week. While this is the expectation, spoilers are never guaranteed due to their inherently illicit nature.

That being said, there are some aspects of and events within the upcoming issue that My Hero Academia fans can count on being present in the official release even without the help of spoilers. Unsurprisingly, most of the issue will focus on Toga’s ultimate fate, but at least a portion of its final section should focus on the aforementioned pair’s budding romance.

My Hero Academia likely to confirm both Izuku and Uraraka’s romance and Toga’s fate in the same issue

My Hero Academia chapter 429 should open with Deku trying to find the right words to say to Uraraka. Unfortunately, whatever he does say is likely to be the “wrong” thing, as Uraraka begins to say that he couldn’t possibly understand how she feels. However, she should stop before actually saying it, remembering that Deku does understand how she feels about his inability to save Tomura Shigaraki.

This should also calm her down to the point where she’s able and willing to have a conversation with him, in turn setting up a flashback to what the “cameras” missed, to use her phrasing from the previous issue. This will most likely show that while Uraraka was found in time to be saved, Toga has either perished or is in a comatose state due to the injuries she sustained and brain damage via blood loss.

It’s at this point that My Hero Academia should show a flashback to the pair’s final conversation, which will likely serve as the conclusion to their shared arc. Toga will likely recognize that she will die if she tries to save Uraraka, which she’ll make peace with. It’s Uraraka who’ll likely be shown as the one unable or unwilling to accept this, desperately trying to reject Toga’s help.

It’ll likely be revealed that by copying someone else’s Quirk, Toga was able to put Uraraka to sleep to prevent her from struggling anymore. From here, fans can expect Toga to say one to two more touching lines about her relationship with Uraraka before the young girl is seen waking up in the hospital after the war.

This should prompt a return to the present, where Uraraka confirms that the wound she feels pain from is the one Toga gave her. This should also lead to Uraraka saying the pain from the wound isn’t physical but emotional due to her inability to save Toga when that was all she wanted to do.

From here, Deku should begin speaking about his own experiences briefly, offering some words and insight that comfort Uraraka. As the two try to get themselves in a lighter mood, the issue will likely end with a confession or proclamation of love between the two, either verbally or shown via their actions.
