My Hero Academia chapter 423 was recently leaked and signalled the upcoming ending of the series as All For One was defeated by the collective efforts of the heroes. As Deku lost the One For All Quirks, his friends and allies all attempted to help him in his final battle in one way or another, resulting in the definitive defeat of the evil overlord.

While that, on paper, should signal the end of the War arc in the My Hero Academia manga, the upcoming chapters should be focused on giving the series a resolution to a lot of character arcs. In many ways, chapter 423 of the manga ended, which was the final battle of the series and the coming ones are mostly going to serve as an epilogue to author Kohei Horikoshi's story.

My Hero Academia chapter 423 has probably pointed at the series ending very soon

Chapter 423 was leaked this week and showed the definitive defeat of All For One as Deku, aided by his friends and fellow heroes, managed to give him the final punch to end the battle. Furthermore, Tomura Shigaraki, supported by the remaining One For All users in the vestige world, also took the life of the villain in that reality, with Deku and the former having a few final words before everything came to an end.

All things considered, the main conflict of the series, which was stopping All For One, has concluded and the other threats, such as Tomura Shigaraki and his League of Villains, have also been resolved. There are no more character arcs to be dealt with since the likes of Deku, Katsuki Bakugo, Shoto Todoroki, Ochaco Uraraka, and even All Might had their respective closures when it comes to their journeys throughout the manga.

Therefore, now that the final battle has concluded, there are going to be a couple of chapters moving forward, mostly serving as an epilogue of sorts. There is a very good chance that author Kohei Horikoshi is going to focus on the next chapters to give closure to some other prominent characters and also to make it fit in nicely with the ending of the seventh season of the anime or at least the first couple of episodes.

What could happen in the coming chapters

The next few chapters of My Hero Academia are most likely to deal with the aftermath of the final battle. Perhaps one of the most interesting questions in the fandom at the moment is if the likes of Dabi and Himiko Toga are still alive, especially considering that the manga has not confirmed that they have died despite being in a critical state.

There is also going to be a focus on Deku because of his obvious status as the protagonist and also to fully confirm if he is now Quirkless or not, which is going to be a divisive opinion in the fandom. Author Kohei Horikoshi also mentioned that he wanted to add the Uraraka and Deku in the sky illustration he did a few years ago into the story, so perhaps he is going to illustrate that particular arc and end the journeys of other characters.

Final thoughts

Now that My Hero Academia chapter 423 has ended the final battle with All For One, there is a very good chance that the coming chapters are going to serve as an epilogue of sorts. Therefore, for all intents and purposes, the main conflict of the series has concluded.
