The actual identity of the My Hero Academia narrator has always been a topic of discussion and debate among its fandom. Although it is almost unanimously agreed that Deku is the primary narrator and that the entire current story is just an adult Deku retelling his journey, many moments point towards there being multiple narrators.

The Vigilante Deku arc also had brief narrations from Uraraka, but one of the major points of debate has been the possibility of Bakugo being a narrator. One of the major indicators of Bakugo being a narrator was chapter 348's narration, which called Deku a nerd.

Given Bakugo's characterization and his overall personality, along with addressing Deku as a nerd, almost the entire fandom agreed that Bakugo was a narrator because of chapter 348's narration. This also fed into the hype of My Hero Academia season 7 episode 7, which adapted chapter 348. Unfortunately, the narration that called Deku a nerd was by none other than Present Mic, which came as a surprise to many fans.

It is confirmed that the My Hero Academia story is a retelling of Deku's journey by someone in the future who survived the Hero vs. Villain war. Although the entire fandom is split about the revelation of Present Mic being the third narrator, many fans have expressed how his entire character fits the narration role.

Present Mic has always been the side character with an overwhelming presence in each of his scenes. His entire gimmick is being loud and a commentator, which is further complemented by his quirk "Voice," which allows him to amplify his voice to a very high degree.

Present Mic is involved in the story because of his and Aizawa's friendship with Shirakumo. This, along with Present Mic being one of the first characters introduced in early My Hero Academia, hints that he would have survived the war and would have been able to narrate the story.

Final Thoughts

My Hero Academia season 7, episode 7 came out on June 15, 2024, and it marked the beginning of the Final War arc. Although this episode confirmed Present Mic to be the third narrator, Bakugo still can be a narrator, especially since the manga has started its epilogue.
