My Hero Academia season 7 episode 12 was released on August 3, 2024, and Studio Bones kept up and delivered a consistently good episode. The episode could be the most non-improvised one yet as the only addition to this episode, other than the source material, was the flashbacks from the past.

Moreover, this episode could be the first one that made fans feel the lack of art style as compared to the manga. The episode continued the story after Bakugo's demise at the hands of TomurAFO. As Best Jeanist tried his best to repair Bakugo's heart, Mirko and Lemillion tried their best to distract the villain.

Eventually, Edgeshot entered and took the responsibility of healing Bakugo. The episode ended with Izuku Midoriya entering the Coffin in the Sky by impaling the villain.

Comparing My Hero Academia season 7 episode 12 to its chapters

My Hero Academia season 7 episode 12, titled Those Who Defend, Those Who Violate, adapted chapters 363-366. The episode commenced with a panel the anime adaptation skipped in one of the previous episodes, where the first vestige informed Deku about a bad feeling he was having from All for One's quirk.

On the other hand, back to the Coffin in the Sky, Monoma couldn't absorb the fact that Bakugo had died right before his eyes and started screaming. Dabi had also returned as he awakened his other quirk before dying, thus adding to the trouble of Shoto Todoroki and company.

Not only this, All for One had also reverted to his young state using the medicine extracted from Eri's quirk. This was a plan the antagonist and Dr. Garaki nailed before the awakening of Tomura Shigaraki as TomurAFO. Now, with a body with no injuries, the demon lord started wreaking havoc by stealing the quirks of others and giving Endeavor and company a hard time.

Unfortunately, where despair had taken over everywhere on the battlefield, the same was happening on the main battlefield where Mirko was restrained by TomurAFO. The others couldn't do much but save Bakugo's corpse from getting pulverized by the villain.

The moment when All for One transformed back into his younger self was one of the moments where fans appreciated Kohei Horikoshi's art style in the manga which couldn't be captured in the anime. Until this point, every scene was faithful to the manga series.

When everything was going haywire on the battlefield of the final war, things weren't so good in the United States of America. The country was going down, as their number 1 hero, Star and Stripe, was killed by TomurAFO and the person blamed for her demise was Professor Agpar.

Back to the Coffin in the sky, Edgeshot arrived near Bakugo as Best Jeanist tried his best to sew the wounds of the young hero. My Hero Academia season 7 episode 12 saw Edgeshot claim that he would be much better for this job as his quirk involved him piercing the bodies of his opponent, and so he had more knowledge about the human anatomy.

Before entering Bakugo's body, Edgeshot encouraged Mirko to never stop and keep pushing. This gave her an adrenaline rush which helped her escape TomurAFO's restraints. She then launched at the villain, and with the help of Lemillion, she landed a hard blow on TomurAFO.

Edgeshot entered Bakugo's chest and saw that Best Jeanist had sewed the puncture in his heart but hadn't done anything else. He then did his best to sew every possible puncture as Mirko and Lemillion kept the villain busy. Everything to this point was the direct adaptation of the manga and hardly had any improvisations.

While fighting against the Pro Heroes, TomurAFO started feeling a shiver deep inside his body as if he was scared of everyone who was trying to kill him. Right at that moment, his body transformed into a much more potent form. This form covered his vitals and gave him an absolute defense that was hard to take down.

After transforming, Shigaraki impaled everyone on the battlefield and ignored Lemillion claiming that he wasn't a potential danger to him. Lemillion thought of Nighteye's last moments where he said that Lemillion could become a great hero. Fortunately, Lemillon and Best Jeanist were given a sign that Deku was here and they needed to stall the villain for two more seconds.

Looking at how desperate the situation was, Lemillion jumped in front of the villain and presented his buttocks to distract the villain. Fortunately, the villain was distracted which gave Deku a chance to pack a punch and launch at the villain, hitting him with a proper smash.

Where nothing was improvised in these scenes as well, the color contract used was quite eye-appealing, especially for Deku's entrance. Where the episode was bad from any perspective, the fact that there was hardly any improvisation in this episode made it look extremely normal.
