My Hero Academia season 7 episode 13, titled A Chain of Events, Across the Ages, adapted chapters 367-369. The episode began with a flashback to the previous episode, where villains in different parts of the battlefield returned. Meanwhile, Izuku Midoriya was rushing towards the battlefield, as the first vestige told him about a bad feeling he was getting from the main battlefield.

This scene was skipped from the source material in one of the previous episodes. As Deku reached the battlefield, one of the U.S. aircraft offered the protagonist a lift to the battlefield. The pilot explained that he was only helping Deku and others because their hero, Star and Stripe, always believed in them.

The aircraft then gave Deku a jolt, giving him enough force to soar through the skies and enter the Coffin in the Sky, where TomurAFO was being distracted by Lemillion. The protagonist impaled the antagonist and saved Lemillion. There wasn't any anime-original scene in this part, but the direction made this progression of events much more impactful.

After landing on the ground, Deku witnessed the gravely injured heroes, among whom was lying a 'dead' Bakugo. TomurAFO took the opportunity to blame Deku as the man responsible for their fates because he arrived late. This made Deku's meta quirks go insane, and he was about to burst towards the villain. Fortunately, Lemillion stopped him before he could attack the villain.

The villain was expecting the protagonist to attack in such a state because Deku would be predictable this way. Lemillion told him about how heroes need to make fantasies realities and not fall into despair in moments that matter the most. This calmed Deku down, and he locked onto TomurAFO, asking if Shigaraki was still alive inside him.

Deku vs TomurAFO began and the star of the fight was the second vestige's meta ability, Gearshift. The ability allowed Deku to amplify his speed, combining it with other meta abilities. These attacks hit the villain hard enough that he could feel the impact of every blow. The color contrast and the return of 'You Say Run' were what made these scenes amazing, despite them being fully faithful to the manga.

As a finishing blow, Deku used Gearshift to amplify his speed by 120% and hit the villain, weakening the link between All for One and Shigaraki. Right after this moment, My Hero Academia season 7 episode 13 shifted to a flashback from the past when the villain killed the second vestige during his time.

All for One claimed that the second vestige's ability, Gearshift, was just a party trick technique with no potential. However, seeing how Deku was able to utilize it so cleverly, the villain couldn't help but feel despair. But he didn't give up. My Hero Academia season 7 episode 13 then shifted to the Central Hospital, where Spinner had transformed into a beast.

The spotlight of this chapter was on TomurAFO, who was drowning in despair after Deku hit him with a quirk that the villain considered useless all along. The last part was pretty straightforward too, without much tweaking in the details from the source material.
