My Hero Academia season 7 episode 12 recap
Titled "Those Who Defend, Those Who Violate", the episode began with every single Hero at the U.A. Sky Coffin dumbfounded at Bakugo's corpse at Best Jeanist's feet. Everyone was too stunned to react as Shigaraki blamed Aizawa for putting the blonde on the front line. He smiled evilly as he looked for his next victim, who was Mirko, tangled in his arm's growths.
Back at Kamino Ward, Dabi had a full revival, his hate burning hotter than it ever did. He survived Shoto's last move by copying his brother, emerging from the flames with a bright blue burning X across his body. Through Skeptic, we understand he was supporting Shigaraki while furthering Re-Destro's ambitions. He even hacked into the U.A. Sky Coffin power block.
Switching to the Gunga Villa Site, an injured Hawks and Endeavor finally witness the fully revived AFO. Thanks to Shie Hassaikai's work and Dr. Garaki's genius, the latter developed a serum from Eri's Quirk which ultimately allowed AFO to get back his younger, original body, which was in prime condition.
As AFO states, using Rewind meant he would perish soon, but before that, he needed to free Shigaraki of the Heroes' trap so his will could live on. With Endeavor recovering, Hawks attempted to buy time by finding out AFO's motive. The Villain boldly claimed that he envisioned to ruin the world's future.
The scene then switches to Washington D.C., where Timothy Agpar is being blamed for displaying hostility towards Shigaraki. As further revealed, a secret war was underway to gain Shigaraki's favor in a disguised attempt to strike at the right time. Totally against it, Agpar appealed for what Star and Stripe stood for - to inspire the Heroes of tomorrow. Back to the Sky Coffin, Best Jeanist sutured Bakugo's wounds and Edgeshot made the ultimate sacrifice by becoming Bakugo's heart.
Mirko broke free and hit back with all she had, and for the first time, Shigaraki felt nervous. But this led to his adapting body taking on a new, defensive, and terrifying form. Brushing the Heroes aside, he charged at the lifeless Bakugo but was unconventionally stopped by Mirio. That brief delay was enough for Midoriya to enter with a powerful smash attack on Shigaraki.
