On Thursday, September 5, 2024, studio BONES unveiled the preview for My Hero Academia season 7 episode 16. The episode, titled The Chain Thus Far, is set to be released on Saturday, September 7, 2024. The anime episode will be available to watch on Crunchyroll worldwide.

The anime's previous episode saw the heteromorphs stop their rampage after seeing the hospital's staff trying to protect the patients. Unfortunately, Present Mic failed to stop Spinner from reaching Kurogiri. With that, the villains managed to turn the tides by having Himiko Toga use Twice's doubles.

After Kurogiri escaped from the hospital, he started making moves to rescue Shigaraki Tomura. This mission saw him teleport to each of the villains' locations and send them to their desired location. One of these villains was Himiko Toga who had transformed using Twice's blood.

Right after transforming into her deceased friend, Toga used Infinite Doubles: Sad Man's Death Parade to dramatically turn the tides of the battle. Thus, with the preview showing Ochako Uraraka and Tsuyu Asui having teleported to Toga's new location, the anime might see Ochako try and resume her fight with Toga, hoping to stop her rampage as Twice.

As seen in the previous episode, when Kurogiri escaped from the hospital, he helped Dabi reach his father Endeavor's location. Therefore, the next episode will most certainly see the League of Villains member go after the man he blamed for his villain origin.

Dabi had always wanted to enact revenge upon his father for ignoring him after the birth of his siblings. Thus, while he was already exhausted after his fight against Shoto Todoroki and the Flaming Sidekickers, he wasn't done. He wanted to fight his father and will likely unleash his wrath upon him in the next episode.

As fans might remember, both Endeavor and Hawks were fighting All For One at the Gunga Mountain Villa location. However, All For One had no interest in prolonging the fight as he wished to go to Shigaraki Tomura's location and become one with him.

Hence, All For One was on the lookout for an opportunity to get past the two heroes and rendezvous with Shigaraki. That's when Kurogiri interrupted their fight with Himiko Toga and Dabi. As both Toga and Dabi had set their eyes on Hawks and Endeavor, respectively, this was the perfect opportunity for All For One to make his way. Nevertheless, despite the distraction caused by Toga, Hawks is set to go after All For One to put a stop to him.
