On Thursday, September 12, 2024, animation studio BONES released the preview images and synopsis for My Hero Academia season 7 episode 17. The anime episode, titled 'Hopes,' is set to be released on Saturday, September 14, 2024. Thus, the preview for the same was unveiled a couple of days before.

The previous episode saw Himiko Toga and Dabi reaching the Gunga Villa site where both of them targetted Hawks and Endeavor, respectively. Elsewhere, Kurogiri helped stop Monoma from using Copy. Hence, Shigaraki could finally make his move. That's when former villains La Brava, Gentle, and Lady Nagant came to the heroes' rescue.

As seen in the previous episode, just as the U.A. island started losing altitude, La Brava started working on getting the systems back online. However, she did not have enough time to keep the altitude steady. That's when her partner and former criminal Gentle Criminal arrived at everyone's rescue.

He used his Elasticity Quirk to launch himself into the air and grab hold of the U.A. Island. Following that, he used his Quirk on the air beneath the U.A. island to keep the fortress in the air, preventing it from losing more altitude. With Gentle set to have an important role to play in the next episode, he could succeed in his mission.

Since the beginning of the final war, Monoma had erased Shigaraki's Decay Quirk by copying Shota Aizawa's Quirk. Unfortunately, after the events surrounding Kurogiri, Monoma happened to close his eyes, giving Shigaraki his Decay Quirk back. Right after, Shigaraki tried to destroy the U.A. island using his Quirk. Just then, his arm and head were sniped by Lady Nagant.

Considering how Lady Nagant was able to hurt Shigaraki from afar, she could create a long-distance team-up with Deku to fight the All For One user. While Nagant had met Deku only once, she realized that he was one of the good heroes who wished to lead villains to the right path. Hence, she may want to help him defeat the strongest villain.

With Himiko Toga using Twice's blood, she was now able to use his Quirk to create infinite doubles. During this widespread confusion, in the previous episode, All For One tried to get close to Shigaraki Tomura. Fortunately, Hawks arrived just in time to stop him. That said, as fans might remember, the Pro Hero was already exhausted.

Thus, in the next episode, while All For One tries to run away, Hawks may take to the sidelines while Tokoyami or other reinforcements try to stop him. That said, given the battle's proceedings, it is difficult to predict who will come to the heroes' aid.
