My Hero Academia season 7 episode 9 was released on June 29, 2024. The episode kept the improvisation to a minimum and adjusted the timing of events from the source material.

The episode focused on the aftermath of the showdown between the Todoroki brothers as the heroes saw a glimpse of hope in their victory. On the other hand, Endeavor and Hawks continued their fight against All for One. Jiro and Tokoyami tried joining them but the antagonist was close to killing them as the chapter ended.

Although the episode wasn't one of the most hyped ones from the series, it was still one of the most decently animated ones with the fight between Endeavor and All for One. There weren't many improvisations in the episode compared to the source material, which is a deviation from the trend that continued from the first episode of season 7.

My Hero Academia season 7 episode 9 was titled Extras and adapted chapters 353 and 354, and a part of 356. The episode commenced with a flashback to the finishing blow Shoto delivered on Dabi, thus rendering him motionless. After this event, Endeavor's side-kick announced that Shoto had defeated Dabi.

Everyone from the battlefield rejoiced as a hope of victory ran through the heroes. The news also ran through All Might and the people outside the battlefield, as the former Symbol of Peace cried after imagining how hard it could have been for Shoto to defeat his brother. Everything was adapted according to the source material with no improvisation.

The episode then shifted to different battlefields, one of which was the Jaku Hospital Ruins where Kirishima and his group were fighting the villains. As expected, everyone praised Todoroki for defeating his enemy and continued their fight.

My Hero Academia season 7 episode 9 then shifted to the Takabo National Stadium where Fatgum and Aoyama felt relieved after one of the strongest villains was defeated. The focus shifted to Kunieda, the Tatartarus escapee whom the heroes were fighting, who claimed that the villains would not let Aoyama leave alive, as he had betrayed them.

The episode also visited Spinner, who was going berserk after learning about Dabi's defeat. My Hero Academia season 7 episode 9 then returned to Shoto, who was broken after defeating his brother. However, Dabi's body still showed some life in the form of a spec of light. Everything until this was truly faithful to the manga series, without any improvisation or addition.

My Hero Academia season 7 episode 9 then shifted to the Gunga Mountains where Endeavor and Hawks were getting ready to fight All for One. After hearing that one of his sons had defeated another, the antagonist questioned Endeavor about his feelings. His only goal was to trigger the Pro Hero while Hawks kept shouting to keep Enji calm.

Ultimately, the villain managed to make the Pro Hero lose his temper, which caused him to rush recklessly towards All for One. The villain took this chance and ripped Enji's chest. Hawks tried to save him but All for One overpowered him too. These scenes were also adapted accurately without any exclusion.

Jiro and Tokoyami join the battle

After overpowering the heroes, My Hero Academia season 7 episode 9 saw the villain trying to kill Hawks but Jiro and Tokoyami appeared out of nowhere and saved him. Hawks wanted to tell them to leave but considering the situation, he asked for their help.

On the other hand, Endeavor was confused about his emotions for both of his sons and got a hold of himself. The battle between All for One and the heroes continued as the villain focused on killing the young heroes. He attacked Tokoyami and Jiro with his Quirk, but the heroes barely escaped his advances.

When Jiro was taken by surprise, Tokoyami tried to keep his tact and save his friend from falling. Even though he managed to keep his friend in the air, All for One attacked them again. He attacked Jiro and Tokoyami with a gigantic laser but Hawks was seen rushing towards them to save them.

Unfortunately, after the laser's effects subsided, My Hero Academia season 7 episode 9 showcased that both heroes were hit with the laser as Hawks was trapped by the villain. This scene was also completely faithful to the source, with no additions or exclusions.

The series is set to be on break next week for episode 10.
