Nakime in the Demon Slayer series hasn’t received much screen time. Fans first got a glimpse of her in the very last episode of the first season — she was the demon who played the Biwa and controlled the Infinity Castle. This is a convoluted structure that houses plenty of demons. This location also serves as the place for the meetings between Kibutsuji Muzan and the 12 Kizuki.
Nakime seems to have made another appearance in the anime in the current season. This raises an interesting discussion among anime-only fans of the series — Nakime’s role in Muzan’s plans in Demon Slayer. She has a supportive role in Muzan’s plans. The manga chapters will provide anime-only fans with a better understanding of what Muzan has in mind for Nakime in his plans to achieve true immortality.

Demon Slayer: Understanding Nakime’s role in Muzan’s plans
An interesting fact about Nakime is that she is the replacement Upper Moon 4 demon. She took this position after Hantengu was defeated by the collective efforts of Tanjiro Kamado, Mitsuri Kanroji, Genya Shinazugawa, and Nezuko Kamado. Since Hantengu was dead, Muzan needed a demon to take his place. Nakime’s role in Muzan’s plans in Demon Slayer involves plenty of reconnaissance and manipulating the Infinity Castle.
One of Nakime’s abilities is that she can create multiple clones of her eyes and she can also send it over long distances to monitor areas. She managed to infiltrate the Demon Slayer Corps and found Kagaya Ubuyashiki’s location. Nakime was also tasked with finding Nezuko Kamado. This is because Nezuko is one of the key pieces that he needs to achieve true immortality. However, Nakime didn’t particularly succeed on that front.
Muzan made it to Kagaya Ubuyashiki's mansion and even had a conversation with him. The latter was on the verge of death due to the curse that afflicted the men of his clan. Muzan killed Ubuyashiki and then Nakime’s ability to manipulate the Infinity Castle came into play. All the Hashira and other demon hunters rushed into the Infinity Castle while pursuing Muzan.
She played an integral role in isolating the Hashira and making their lives miserable while they were attempting to kill Muzan. She is also the only remaining Upper Moon demon after Kokushibo’s death.
Muzan has a clear role for Nakime in mind. The Infinity Castle was an important part of his plan and it was Nakime’s job to manipulate the building. She is one of the most interesting demons in Muzan’s legion. While most demons are known for their destructive abilities, Nakime’s abilities are exceptional from a support standpoint.
Anime-only fans can expect Nakime to get plenty of screen time in the 'Infinity Castle' arc of the series. As highlighted in the article, fans will witness Nakime’s potential in the upcoming season. While her powers and abilities might not seem as impressive when compared to Hantengu, she certainly helped Muzan a lot more than Hantengu did in the animanga series.
